In class this week, I only had three days to work and was therefore not able to get much done. As outlined in my final blog post, I have been trying to decrease the slippage of the two gears. I have done this by combining several gears into one thick gear. I have also done this by adding supports. I put some straws over the thin dowel to create more surface area to add supports. I used popsicle sticks, which are fairly rudimentary, but are effective. This has incredibly decreased the chance of the gears slipping. I have done this in preparation to motorize the shafts.
The gears have been widened.
You can see both widened gears

Added popsicle sticks as supports
Demonstration of the increased meshing of the gears. The 10:1 Gear Ratio is evident in the video.
