This was my first project with a temperature sensor. They are easy, yet confusing to use. Many in the class, including me, kept forgetting which pin was the 5.5V, the analog pin and which was the ground pin. Whenever we wired the sensor wrong, the sensor would overheat and burn us. In the end, we figured out that the schematics that we were given were wrong and the new wiring worked.
Circuit from above. Temperature sensor on the left and LEDs on the right
Circuit from the side.
The test from normal to hot. I used a hair dryer to blow hot air onto the sensor and the light changed from green to red
The test from normal to cold. I touched my hand to ice cubes and then touched the temperature sensor. Shows the light turning from green to yellow.
