Dear Eagle Families,
We had an outstanding turnout for our kindergarten meet-the-teacher night on Wednesday evening. Thank you to all who were able to attend as our time together always leads to greater connections and opportunities to strengthen our village and commitment to excellence for every child, every day, in every way!
Be sure to see below for our newest volunteer at Summerside, sweet canine Tessa and her owner Barb! We welcome all to volunteer at Summerside in a variety of ways. You can connect with your child's teacher to support in the classroom, join our incredible PTO, become a library volunteer, and share your unique talents with us in other ways. Here is additional information about becoming a volunteer in any of our West Clermont schools as we certainly welcome your partnership and involvement in your child's education!
Patriot's Day is Monday, September 11, a day of remembrance and service. We will honor this day with our flag at half-staff, a moment of silence as a staff prior to school beginning at 8:46 am as well as paying tribute to our first responders at our WC Board Meeting at the West Clermont Middle School on Monday evening, including our incredible Student Resource Officer, Officer Mike Ventree.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Ms. Lowe
P.S. Be sure to check out all that is up and coming below for additional ways to engage at Summerside and throughout our district!

PARENT PICK-UP REMINDERS
Please note that we ask that parents not join our car lines until 3:40 pm or later and that all cars remain in a single lane until that lane is filled to allow for traffic to still navigate through our parking lots. We also ask that all cars stay in a single file line on the sidewalk side of the driveway and down Edwilla. This allows cars moving into our Kindergarten and First Grade lanes to go around, minimizing our overall traffic flow at dismissal.

Mark your calendars to join the Summerside Eagle team as we march in the annual West Clermont High School Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 29th. Details to come but plan to arrive at the announced meeting location by 4:40 pm as the parade typically begins at 5:00 pm with more family fun on the WCHS campus at the conclusion of the parade. It is a lot of fun and we want to come out in full force this year!
Our Core Values: Together We are, ON THE RISE. R-Relationship, I-Innovation, S-Student Centered, E-Empowerment
We are creating a courageous culture by focusing on our mission of committing to excellence with every learner, every day, every way. We strive to have a safe, caring, positive learning environment where all students have a sense of belonging.
School Attendance Matters!
September is National School Attendance Awareness Month! As a community, let us show up together!
Did you know:
Absenteeism is a lost opportunity to learn.
Kids who miss too much school in PreK & KG are less likely to be reading by the 3rd Grade.
Students who are chronically absent in 6th grade have lower achievement than their peers.
A student who is chronically absent in high school is 7.4X more likely to drop out.
Please join us in giving our students a chance and make a real difference in our community!
'Journey of a Wolf' Town Hall Series
Come learn about what it takes for a West Clermont student to be future-ready. Our first Town Hall of the 2023-24 school year is September 28th at Clough Pike Elementary (808 Clough Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45245). Join us at 6 PM! Seating is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot here!
Invitation to Tour the Facilities in West Clermont
WHO:
Over the next several months, we encourage all residents of the district to come out and take a tour to learn more about YOUR West Clermont facilities. Prior to some upcoming school board meetings, we are opening our doors to give the community an opportunity to see our facilities and learn about the great things they provide, what we are potentially looking to improve in the future, and learn what it takes to maintain these for our kids and community.
WHY:
Our buildings and facilities in West Clermont are critical to the success and progress of our students. It's a continuous priority to ensure that our learning spaces contribute to educational growth, student and staff safety, and a diversity of programming options. These aren't just buildings, but building blocks for the future of our students. They're also some of the most important assets of our community and they belong to YOU!
WHEN:
Our upcoming building tours are:
September 11 at West Clermont Middle School (1341 Clough Pike)
October 17 at Merwin Elementary (1040 Gaskins Road)
November 16 at Clough Pike Elementary (808 Clough Pike)
The schedule for each building tour is:
6:00-6:10 PM - Reception
6:10-6:55 PM - WCMS Building Tour
7:00 PM - School Board Meeting Starts
YES! I would like HealthSource of Ohio to send me the permission form for School-Based healthcare for my student.
