Car Line Reminders - Thank you to all as this has gotten much better already! 

• A reminder to parents in our car line that the left lane is reserved for breakfast eaters.  Please do not start a second lane until after 9:15 a.m. 

• We ask that all parents follow our traffic pattern during arrival and dismissal.  Some parents are parking in the lot and walking through our moving lanes causing safety concerns and delays in our flow.  If you choose to park, which is not preferred as it adds to staff having to focus on more than our designed car lines to keep everyone safe, please hold back so that cars do not feel the need to stop for foot traffic and wait until both lanes are completely stopped before attempting to cross.  Your children are watching you and how you follow procedures and rules as they learn to do the same at school. 

• Our morning car line is finished each morning at 9:25 a.m. Students are expected in the building at this time or they are considered tardy.  Morning routines are important, including the socialization of just walking in with everyone. On inclement weather days, we adjust our attendance to account for longer lines but daily attendance is taken first thing in the morning and it is important your child is in school when expected every day. 

• During dismissal, please remain in a single lane along the right side of our driveway to allow kindergarten and first-grade families to pull along the left lane to get into their designated spots in our parking lot.  Please do not create a double lane until you are actually all of the way in our parking lot.

Weekend Food Bags and Holiday Support for Summerside Students

Our mission is to commit to excellence, with every learner, every day, in every way. One way that we can do that is to help provide for your child if there is a need for food at home over the weekend. Thanks to the generosity of local organizations who work to serve our Summerside students, we are able to continue our Weekend Food Bag Program as an option for our students in need for the 2023 - 24 school year. If you are interested in your child participating in this program, and receiving a food bag at the end of each week, please complete the linked form below. 

We are also fortunate to have local organizations offering Giving Tree and Holiday Food support for the holidays. Please indicate on the following form if you are interested in being connected to these agencies.

Invitation to Tour the  Facilities in West Clermont

Over the next several months, we encourage all residents of the district to come out and take a tour to learn more about YOUR West Clermont facilities. Prior to some upcoming school board meetings, we are opening our doors to give the community an opportunity to see our facilities and learn about the great things they provide, what we are potentially looking to improve in the future, and learn what it takes to maintain these for our kids and community.

Our upcoming building tours are from 6-7 PM on these dates and locations:

• October 17 at Merwin Elementary (1040 Gaskins Road)

• November 16 at Clough Pike Elementary (808 Clough Pike)

Reservations are NOT required, but if you plan to attend, letting us know by completing this form will help us with planning.

Our Next Town Hall Series

This fall, our Town Hall begins a new series around the topic of facilities and we would love to get you involved! Our next two Town Halls are:

• November 28, 2023 (6 PM) at Merwin Elementary

• January 18, 2024 (6 PM) at West Clermont Middle School
