Dear Eagle Families,
Our first FULL week of the school year was absolutely OUTSTANDING!! Our students and staff have been spending time building their classroom routines, building stamina, and connecting as classroom communities. We hope this is happening at home too with morning routines getting smoother, homework time being established, and bedtimes being more welcomed after long busy days of learning, leading, and succeeding!
Speaking of routines, we held our first fire drill of the school year on Friday morning. We hold safety drills each month as required by the state and will continue to discuss safety protocols with your child. You can ask them about what the alarm sounded like and what decisions they made to keep themselves and others safe as they exited the building in a safe and orderly way.
Finally, be sure to click into our 2023 - 2024 School Activity Calendar linked above to mark your calendar for insight to our lunch times, important and upcoming dates, and opportunities to come together. Our OUTSTANDING start is evidence of how OUTSTANDING of a year we are going to have together as we truly are on the RISE!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Ms. Lowe
P.S. A reminder, students do not have school on Friday, September 1st to allow for staff professional learning and are also off school on Monday, September 4th for Labor Day. We hope all enjoy the extended holiday weekend!
We are so fortunate to have the Boys and Girls Club as our neighbors with a LOT of our students attending this free, amazing program every day. Did you know we bus directly from school to the club? Did you know they have tutors and work on homework along with providing a snack and dinner, playtime, and opportunities to learn to serve others? There are still openings for our K - 5 cohorts and we highly recommend and appreciate all this club has to offer our Summerside Eagles!
West Clermont is seeking library volunteers for each building. Please contact Melissa Vogel @ Vogel_m@my.westcler.org
Thank you to three incredible Eagles for representing Summerside as they led our ENTIRE DISTRICT staff in saying the Pledge of Allegiance at our District Convocation on August 11th! Max, Teddy, and Zeke did an amazing job!

Invitation to Tour the Facilities in West Clermont
WHO:
Over the next several months, we encourage all residents of the district to come out and take a tour to learn more about YOUR West Clermont facilities. Prior to some upcoming school board meetings, we are opening our doors to give the community an opportunity to see our facilities and learn about the great things they provide, what we are potentially looking to improve in the future, and learn what it takes to maintain these for our kids and community.
WHY:
Our buildings and facilities in West Clermont are critical to the success and progress of our students. It's a continuous priority to ensure that our learning spaces contribute to educational growth, student and staff safety, and a diversity of programming options. These aren't just buildings, but building blocks for the future of our students. They're also some of the most important assets of our community and they belong to YOU!
WHEN:
Our upcoming building tours are:
September 11 at West Clermont Middle School (1341 Clough Pike)
October 17 at Merwin Elementary (1040 Gaskins Road)
