Dear Summerside Eagle Families,
Summerside Elementary Facility Video
Our school facilities aren't just buildings, but building blocks for the future of our students and their success. They're also some of the most important assets of our community and they belong to YOU! Over the past several weeks on social media, our district has been sharing spotlight videos on each school to give our community a peek into every facility in West Clermont. Check out the video about our Summerside Elementary school building!
Want to learn more? Join us at one of our upcoming building tours, westcler.org/tours (Monday, March 18, 2024 at Summerside Elementary, 6:00 p.m.), or browse the artifacts from our recent 'Focus on Facilities' Town Hall (westcler.org/townhalls). Join us at our next WC Town Hall in March, more information to come! You can also see the videos from all of the other West Clermont school buildings at westcler.org/facilities.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Ms. Lowe
2024 State of the Schools Student Learning Exhibition and Arts Showcase
West Clermont is excited to announce our first-ever State of the Schools Student Learning Exhibition and Arts Showcase NEXT WEEK on February 28, 2024 from 6-8 PM at West Clermont High School! The event is free and open to everyone in our community and will feature students from all of our elementary schools as well as middle school and high school students! The night will begin with an opening keynote followed by student learning exhibition booths, performances by student music groups, and a visual arts showcase! Following the keynote in the auditorium, guests will have the opportunity to explore/visit the exhibition booths, watch the performances, and browse the artwork. During the student learning exhibition booths, students will be showcasing their learning and learning journey and sharing their projects/example work. The Student Learning Exhibition and Arts Showcase is an opportunity for everyone in our community to deepen their understanding of how the West Clermont Portrait of a Graduate comes to life across our district! You won't want to miss it!
*Summerside Second Graders will be performing on the Grand Staircase at WCHS at 6:20 pm. We will have select students' artwork displayed in the Art Exhibit (parents will be notified if their artwork is included in this display) and students presenting at various booths throughout the showcase! We encourage all to attend to see the incredible opportunities our students have in West Clermont!
Grade-level newsletters will be updated every two weeks.
Our Discover team newsletter will be updated quarterly.
Summerside currently has two Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) Teams that meet monthly. Our goal is to ensure all students have access and support to our building-wide plan and to provide extra assistance to those students who struggle behaviorally.
Our Summerside Building Wide PBIS expectations are:
Take Care of Yourself
Take Care of Others
Take Care of Summerside
When teachers and/or other staff notice any particular student struggling with expectations on a consistent basis, that student may be referred to our PBIS Tier 2 Team. The team reviews data to determine if more support is needed.
We would like to make sure parents also have an avenue for referral to the PBIS Tier 2 Team. If you feel your child needs additional behavioral support at school please contact your child’s teacher. Your child’s teacher will be able to provide some insight and a referral may be sent to our Tier 2 Team. A member of the PBIS Tier 2 team will be in contact if the referral is found to warrant adding your child to our Tier 2 intervention.
Superintendant, Mrs. Adams joined Summerside Thursday afternoon to share the #LOVE WC with our Eagles!
