Dear Eagle Families,
Our teachers and staff are dedicated to our collective commitment that your child is successful every day, in every way. Our partnership is key to your child's success. Please look for your child's benchmark data reports that were sent home on Thursday afternoon:
All students, K - 2, have an Acadience report sharing their current assessed literacy skills.
All students 2 - 5 will have an iReady reading and math report sharing their current assessed skills in those two areas.
Students in grades 4 & 5 received the results of the spring Ohio State Test Assessment.
All of these key data points, along with classroom-based measures, guide our instruction on a daily basis, including our tiered instructional approach. Your child may come home in the upcoming week sharing that they are working with one of our three reading specialists if their data shows that this level of support is needed. You will be notified via email in the coming week if your child is on a Reading Improvement Monitoring Plan (RIMP) as part of the requirements of Ohio's Third Grade Reading Guarantee. You can access their RIMP in the forms section in Powerschool this year.
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 5 and Wednesday October 11. See below for links to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher.
We invite you to join us and encourage you to invite your neighbors to join us for the 'Journey of a Wolf' Town Hall Series on Thursday, September 28th at Clough Pike Elementary (808 Clough Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45245). Join us at 6:00 PM. Seating is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot here! Come learn about what it takes for a West Clermont student to be future-ready.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Ms. Lowe
Ms. Laskowski-Cohen, aka, Ms. Ski, our new incredible art teacher, has sparked imaginative creations with just a DOT! Inspired by the book, The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds.
We encourage all families to partner with their child's teacher during the fall conferences.
PTO is hosting a book fair during conferences on 10/5. We encourage you to celebrate your child's hard work with a special trip to the book fair that evening as all are welcome, even if your conference night is scheduled the week after.
Our mission is to commit to excellence, with every learner, every day, in every way. One way that we can do that is to help provide for your child if there is a need for food at home over the weekend. Thanks to the generosity of local organizations who work to serve our Summerside students, we are able to continue our Weekend Food Bag Program as an option for our students in need for the 2023 - 24 school year. If you are interested in your child participating in this program, and receiving a food bag at the end of each week, please complete the linked form below.
We are also fortunate to have local organizations offering Giving Tree and Holiday Food support for the holidays. Please indicate on the following form if you are interested in being connected to these agencies.

West Clermont moving toward top performance as state releases report cards
Today, West Clermont School District is proud to debut its 2022-23 Quality Profile. This annual publication is designed to give every West Clermont resident a more comprehensive look at the high-quality education and services the district offered during the 2022-23 school year. The Quality Profile is a robust complement to the Ohio School Report Card, and includes additional accountability measures that define the high-quality education students receive in West Clermont as we live out our unique Portrait of a Graduate.
Both the Quality Profile and the Ohio School Report Card, which was released by the state yesterday, show that West Clermont has made tremendous progress in ensuring all students receive an excellent education that can lead to success in life no matter their pathway after graduation. This year, West Clermont has leveled up and earned an overall 4-star out of 5-star rating, and the State Report Card finds that it:
Meets the state standards in academic achievement
Meets the state standards in graduation rates
Meets the state standards in early literacy (K-3)
Exceeds state standards in closing educational gaps
Most importantly, our student's performance results provide "significant evidence" that West Clermont exceeded student growth expectations.
“When paired with West Clermont's State Report Card, our Quality Profile offers a comprehensive look at the accomplishments of our students and staff as well as a more complete picture of the well-rounded experience we provide in our schools each and every day. It's our chance to give context to our work as a district ON THE RISE,” said Natasha Adams, Superintendent and CEO.
“We know that a student’s potential is not determined simply by test scores, which is why this profile includes measures beyond the test scores that make up the Ohio School Report Card and seeks to show the complete picture of the total value that our school provides to students and the community,” she added.
Every household across our district will receive a copy of our 2022-23 Quality Profile in the mail this month. In addition, an interactive electronic version is available on our website at westcler.org/qualityprofile.
"Through our Quality Profile, we invite you into the West Clermont story as we continue on our path that's onward and upward," added Jeffrey Riel, Coordinator of Strategic Initiatives and Communication for the district.
School Attendance Matters!
September is National School Attendance Awareness Month! As a community, let us show up together!
Did you know:
Absenteeism is a lost opportunity to learn.
Kids who miss too much school in PreK & KG are less likely to be reading by the 3rd Grade.
Students who are chronically absent in 6th grade have lower achievement than their peers.
A student who is chronically absent in high school is 7.4X more likely to drop out.
Please join us in giving our students a chance and make a real difference in our community!
Important Updates Regarding Admission and Supervision at WCHS Varsity Home Football Games
West Clermont is making some adjustments regarding admittance to and supervision at home Varsity Football games at West Clermont High School.
Supervision:
Elementary (K-5) and Middle School (6-8) students MUST be supervised by an adult who is in attendance at the game.
If a student is stopped by a School Administrator or the Union Township Police Department for not meeting behavior expectations (see below), an adult must be onsite to address and resolve the issue.
This may include being asked to leave the game without refund. Should this occur, the supervising adult would be required to take all students they brought with them.
Elementary students (Grade 5 and under) must sit with an adult.
Middle School parents are encouraged to sit in the newly designated Junior PACK section of the stadium (see seating chart, below), within line of sight of the Middle schooler(s) they brought to the game.
Expectations Regarding Student Behavior:
The Student Code of Conduct remains in effect at all school events, including football games.
Students must have a seat and remain in that seat for the duration of the game, with the exception of trips to and from concessions and/or restrooms.
Students may NOT loiter or run around in the stadium area, the parking lot, or other areas of campus.
Students may NOT be in the shot put pit near the bell.
Anyone caught throwing any objects will be immediately ejected from the game and may be prohibited from attending games the remainder of this school year.
Student Seating:
The WCHS student section will stay in their current section furthest to the left when looking at the home stands.
The Junior PACK (Grades 6-8) will have space reserved for them in the section furthest to the right when looking at the home stands. Middle School parents are encouraged to sit in this section as well.
Elementary students (Grade 5 and under) must sit with an adult.
'Journey of a Wolf' Town Hall Series
Come learn about what it takes for a West Clermont student to be future-ready. Our first Town Hall of the 2023-24 school year is September 28th at Clough Pike Elementary (808 Clough Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45245). Join us at 6 PM! Seating is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot here!
Volume 4 of the WC Roadmap Report is now available! It contains a trove of data from surveys, focus groups, & our town hall meetings as well as what we’ve been doing (or can do) to address the challenges our community has identified. Check it out at westcler.org/roadmap-reports.

It's a continuous priority to ensure that our learning spaces contribute to educational growth, student and staff safety, and a diversity of programming options. West Clermont Schools Remembers Board President
West Clermont is sad to announce the passing of Board of Education President Michele Delaney after a long battle with cancer since 2017.
Delaney was first appointed to the Board in 2019 to fill an unexpired term. During her tenure, she was integral to championing the execution of the district's strategic plan, providing critical leadership during the global pandemic, supporting the district staff through the Onward and Upward Investments Plan, and leading the district to higher academic performance.
She and her husband, John, have been active members of the community for 20+ years and both of their children are graduates of West Clermont. She frequently was heard saying, “I love this district. I believe in West Clermont.”
Before serving on the Board, Delaney was influential in helping the district merge its two high schools into one. She held leadership positions at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, including serving as the President of the West Clermont High School Athletic Boosters. Additionally, she was recognized as an Orpha Gatch Award Nominee for Outstanding Woman Volunteer in Clermont County in 2016.
“Michele was a light to West Clermont Schools. Her unwavering commitment to educational excellence and the well-being of our students guided us through challenges as well as to victory,” said Natasha Adams, Superintendent. “The legacy she leaves behind is immeasurable and will continue to inspire us as we honor her memory in the work that we do each day.”
About West Clermont: West Clermont School District commits to excellence with every learner, every day, and in every way. Its vision is that together as one community, we learn, lead, and succeed. The district believes that together we are ON THE RISE and values strengthening relationships, cultivating innovation, being relentlessly student-centered, and fostering empowerment.
