Create a “One Stop Shop” for Your Lessons: Hyperdocs for Remote (or Anywhere!) Learning

Goal

Know - What are hyperdocs?

Understand - How can a hyperdoc help me to engage students in independent learning?

Do - How do I create a hyperdoc?

Content

What if you could design a “one stop shop” for everything your students needed to work independently through a lesson - even remotely? What would that include? Think about what this resource might look like and jot down your thoughts, if you wish.

The answer to what you’re looking for might just be HYPERDOCS! Hyperdocs are not just slides or documents with links. They are complete lessons, designed to take the learner on a journey that includes engagement, exploration, explanation, application, sharing, reflection, and extension. There are opportunities to read and collaborate and interact. Hyperdocs can be shared in a variety of ways - including through both Google Classroom and Seesaw and they work on pretty much any device - which makes them perfect for remote learning!

Click on the presentation below to experience a hyperdoc from the student point of view. This particular hyperdoc is adapted from a sample I found here. Have some fun working through the hyperdoc. Click on the links, watch the videos, respond to the prompts...get the feel for how a student would experience it.
