Release 2026.13.0 delivers a broad set of production reliability fixes — including a Quartz scheduler out-of-memory fix, several NRS drilldown and search-template corrections, and a fiscal-year rollover fix — alongside continued performance work on Current-FY searches and assessment dashboards.
Move Forward Now Seeds Two Future Fiscal Years (LA-22757) — Opening the Move Forward dialog on an assessment could fail with a "Could not find FY record" error when the assessment's fiscal year was one step ahead of the agency's current year — about 19 times a day across 12 clients. Fiscal year rollover now seeds two future fiscal years instead of one, so Move Forward has the record it needs.
NRS Drilldown Templates — Measurable Skill Gains Argument Fix (LA-22756) — A number of NRS drilldown templates were still calling the Measurable Skill Gains function with too few arguments, causing drilldowns to fail outright rather than show results. This closes a gap left by an earlier fix and now covers state-specific search templates as well as the standard NRS Table searches.
Student/Tutor Language Drilldowns Restored (LA-22754) — The Student Languages and Tutor Languages graphical widgets, along with the built-in Student Language and Tutor Language searches, were failing with an "Invalid column name" error. A missing column reference has been restored and these drilldowns now load correctly.
Staff Fiscal Year Records — Audit Trail Restored (LA-22748) — Saves to Staff Fiscal Year Records were completing successfully but silently failing to write an audit trail entry, so changes to these records had no history. Audit logging now works correctly for this record type.
Move-Forward Eligibility Check — Faster (LA-22765) — The per-student check that determines assessment move-forward eligibility was doing far more work than it needed to on every run. It has been optimized and should feel noticeably faster, particularly for students with no eligible assessments to move forward.
Assessment Dashboards and Grids — Faster Loading (LA-22770) — Assessment-related dashboards and drill-down grids — most noticeably the CO Assessment Alerts dashboard, which had been taking one to six minutes to load for larger agencies — should now load significantly faster thanks to a new database index.
Current-FY Searches and Filters — Faster (LA-22778, LA-22783) — The "Current Fiscal Year" filter used across grids, searches, and NRS drilldowns has been rewritten to remove a slow per-row calculation that was forcing many of these queries to run without the database's normal performance optimizations. Grid loads, searches, and drilldowns that use a Current-FY filter should be noticeably faster fleet-wide, with the largest improvement for agencies with many records.
Active Staff This Fiscal Year — Search Rewritten (LA-22774) — The "active staff this fiscal year" search — used by Staff Alerts dashboard widgets, Staff Diagnostic searches, and the Staff Current FY search — could take one to ten minutes to return results due to an inefficient query design. It has been rewritten and should now return results in well under a second.
Quartz Scheduler Out-of-Memory Fix (LA-22759) — A long-running import processing job could accumulate enough memory over several hours to crash the Quartz scheduler outright, halting all scheduled jobs — partner imports, state exports, Data Warehouse loads, and messaging — until the service was restarted. The underlying memory accumulation has been fixed.
Business Rule Usage Logging — Truncation Fix (LA-22760) — A nightly maintenance job that tracks business rule usage could fail when a business rule's underlying method call was long enough to exceed the destination field's length. The destination field has been widened to match its source, and the job now completes without error.
Account Activation — Password History Check Fix (LA-22758) — Brand-new accounts with no password on file could be incorrectly blocked from activating for clients that enforce unique password history, since the system treated "no password" the same as "already used this password." New accounts with no prior password history can now activate normally.
Import File Display and Export — UTF-8 Character Fix (LA-22739) — Import files containing accented characters, trademark symbols, or other non-ASCII characters (é, ®, ™, and similar) displayed garbled text in the Imports detail view and in grid CSV exports, even though the underlying imported data was correct. Display and export now decode these characters correctly.
DynamicUI/Search Configuration Caching (LA-22658) — Several configuration stored procedures that run on nearly every page load — driving grid views, search sets, and section layout — are now cached instead of re-executing on each request. This reduces overall database load and should improve page responsiveness fleet-wide. No user-facing behavior is expected to change.
Audit Metadata Registration (LA-22747) — Roughly 25 pre-existing database columns spanning Student, Person, Staff, Pair, and Diploma Pathway records were missing from audit tracking metadata, so changes to those specific fields weren't appearing in audit history even though the underlying save worked correctly. These columns are now registered and their changes will appear in audit history going forward.
Workshop Documents Section Configuration (LA-22632) — Backend configuration keys were added to support the new Workshop Documents section.
Class Duplication — Course Name and Min Enroll (LA-22786) — Duplicating a class in Arkansas left the required Course Name field blank (it's calculated from Course Subject and Course Level, which weren't triggering recalculation after duplication) and did not carry over Min Enroll, which is also required in AR. Both are now handled correctly for duplicated classes. This release also brings several other recently-added class fields (IET, Target IET/WPL MSG, Postsecondary Institution Type, Postsecondary Industry, Target Credential) and two longstanding fields (Class Meets Requirement, Min Enroll) into the duplication workflow for all clients.
CDE Identity Federation Update (LA-22433) — Colorado Department of Education is updating their identity provider. LACES' federation and the role/claim format sent in the SAML assertion are being updated to match CDE's new Oracle IDCS configuration.
SSO Admin — Student Portal Provider Save Fixed (LA-22762) — GA Admin users logging in via SSO could not save Student Portal Provider settings in Admin Tools; the save failed with an "Unknown user" error. This now saves correctly regardless of the admin's login method.
Re-Send Activation Button Restored for SSO Admins (LA-22761) — Admin users logged in via SSO were missing the Re-Send Activation button when managing accounts for non-SSO clients, blocking reactivation of those accounts. The button is now available as expected.
CASAS Assessment File Retrieval (LA-22734) — Since GA's originally planned CASAS integration isn't available, LACES now automatically retrieves CASAS assessment files from a dedicated folder on GA's existing SFTP server, so assessment data can be processed without a separate integration.
Daily Student Sign-In Sheet Report (LA-22714) — A new bulk-printable daily sign-in sheet report is available for GA classes held at correctional facilities and other program sites, built to match GA's existing paper sign-in sheet format.
Go-Live Cleanup Items (LA-22735) — A collection of small go-live cleanup items: removed the Transcript panel from the Education tab, restored visibility of Adult High School assessments in the Assessment panel.
Funding Streams Grid Error Fixed (LA-22772) — MA users with a Funding Streams grid view that included the "Federal Fund Code" column got a hard error when opening the grid, since that column was removed from the underlying data in 2019 but a stale field reference remained in some saved views. The stale field reference has been removed and the grid loads correctly.
MassSTEP/WPL Naming and Error Message Corrections (LA-22735, LA-22743) — Several small text issues in the MassSTEP (IET/WPL) Measurable Skill Gains workflow have been corrected for MA: the Save & Go dropdown and the Documents panel header now consistently show "MassSTEP/WPL" instead of the standard "IET/WPL" label, and error messages that had truncated to "Student T..." now correctly read "Student MassSTEP and Workplace Literacy."
Desk Review — MassSTEP Overview Search (LA-22803) — The Desk Review > MassSTEP Overview search was returning 0 for YTD Enrolled, YTD Credentials Attained, and Credential Percentage Rate instead of accurate figures. A fix for this regression is in progress for this release.
Custom Report IET Data Fixed (LA-22784) — The MO Totally Summarized report was showing 0 for IETP and IETP/Credential rows even though the underlying data existed. The report now populates these rows correctly.
DEW Grid Actions Removed (LA-22782) — The Send Message and Drop Student grid actions, which aren't relevant to the DEW (Department of Education and Workforce) program model, have been removed from the Student and Staff grids for all OH DEW agencies. This is a follow-on to the earlier DEW UI cleanup that removed the All Assessments menu and other actions.
Data Export — Pipe Delimiter (LA-22780) — TN's data export files (NRS detail tables plus student/staff/class extracts) now use a pipe (|) delimiter instead of commas, at TN's request, to avoid parsing issues caused by commas embedded in free-text and address fields. File contents, columns, and filenames are unchanged.
Duplicate PoPs on NRS Tables Fixed (LA-22715) — Five students in VA's Region 8 (Northern Virginia Regional Adult Education) had duplicate 2025–2026 periods of participation, causing them to be counted multiple times on several NRS Tables. The duplicate records have been identified and corrected.
Custom Report IET Data Fixed (LA-22784) — The Washington Performance Summary Report was showing 0 for IETP and IETP/Credential rows even though the underlying data existed. The report now populates these rows correctly.
