The 2025.8.0 release continues our focus on security, data quality, and state-specific customization. This update introduces stronger SSN protections, improved search functionality, enhanced reporting features, and additional cleanup of legacy processes. Several important defects have been addressed to support more accurate data reporting and smoother day-to-day workflows.

✨ Feature Highlight: Standardized Languages

Primary Language Selection Improvements and Language List Standardization (LA-21140)

We recently standardized the language list across all clients, using ISO 639-based codes to improve consistency and reporting accuracy. Existing entries were mapped to this list, and unmatched values were labeled “Other Language,” with the original text preserved in a comment field. In cases where the original entry was close to a recognized value, a new standardized language was selected, and the previous entry was recorded in the new "Comment" field so no data was lost.

The "Comment" field for language records is now visible in the following areas:

Student Detail > Education > Language
Staff Detail > Staff Data > Language
Tutor Detail > Tutor Data > Language
All Languages

For portal users, the Primary Language field no longer defaults to the application language. Instead, students now select their primary language directly. The language used to complete the application is still captured separately as a comment.

If your program uses a language not included in the current list, please contact LACES Support to request additions.

🐞 General Bug Fixes

Diploma Records Could Not Be Edited or Deleted (LA-20981)
Corrected a regression where users were unable to modify diploma records that were created automatically. These records can now be edited and deleted per user

“In the List” Search on SSN Not Functioning (LA-20718)
Fixed an issue preventing SSN list searches from executing correctly. The student search is now functioned as inteded.

Inconsistent Current Level Display in Student Header (LA-10970)
Corrected an issue where the Current Level field was not displaying consistently in the student header. The field now appears as expected across all relevant views.

Students Not Receiving PoP Exit Dates After Inactivity (LA-21046)
Resolved an issue where students were not receiving a Period of Participation exit date after 90 days of inactivity. This logic has been restored

🚀 General Updates & Enhancements

Excel Export Option for HSE Diplomas Earned Report (LA-20238)
Added a raw data export option to the HSE Diplomas Earned Report for clients needing spreadsheet-ready data.

Gender Identity and Pronouns Fields Hidden for Selected States (LA-21128)
To comply with local policy requirements, these fields are now hidden in select states.

Grid Export Now Preserves Timestamps (LA-21162)
When exporting grid data, timestamps are now preserved as entered, supporting audit trails and documentation accuracy.

HiSET Practice Test Option Updated (LA-21076)
Clients using HiSET now have access to the new PPT8 test option in the Practice Test list.

Improved SSO Error Handling When IdP Changes (LA-21169)
SSO logins now show clearer messages when the linked identity provider account has changed, reducing confusion for end users.

Invalid SSNs Included in SSN Searches (LA-21113)
Enhanced the SSN Entered and SSN Not Entered searches to identify invalid SSNs, improving audit and data cleanup workflows.

Retention with Same Employer Added to Statewide Performance Report (LA-19670)
The Statewide Performance Report now includes retention measures, showing whether students are employed with the same employer across PoPs.

SSN Export Disabled for Full Access Users (LA-21131)
To enhance data privacy, full access users in all clients can no longer export SSNs from the system.

Improved Scheduled Task Management (LA-16751, LA-16752)
Internal processes for scheduled tasks were upgraded to a more stable and scalable framework, improving reliability of behind-the-scenes operations.

System Cleanup and Optimization (LA-21031, LA-21088)
Removed outdated components and legacy background processes to streamline system performance and reduce technical debt.

Support for Future Data Enhancements (LA-21069)
Internal data structure updates were implemented to support long-term reporting and feature expansion.

🏛️ State Customizations

Colorado

Expanded AELA Monitoring and Assessment Logic for Colorado (LA-21025, LA-21015, LA-21018, LA-21020, LA-21021)
Implemented customizations to support Colorado’s AELA and assessment monitoring requirements. This includes the addition of new comment and document types, expanded goal and outcome tracking, CDE approval fields, updated monitoring dashboards, and enhanced post-test eligibility logic across multiple assessment types. These changes improve data accuracy for state-required reporting and align with Colorado’s data validation processes.

New Hampshire

Graduation Planning Functionality Added (LA-20605)
Implemented graduation plan and transcript tracking features for New Hampshire. Includes tools to manage earned credits, graduation requirements, and transcript data. Added support for importing transfer credits, along with new searches and reports to help programs track and plan for Adult Diploma Program completion.

New Jersey

Desk Monitoring Report Not Generating Consistently (LA-21151)
Resolved intermittent issues with the Desk Monitoring Report not generating reliably under certain conditions.

Rhode Island

SLDS Export Reactivated Using RILDS (LA-21133)
Rhode Island’s SLDS export functionality has been re-enabled, now routing through the updated RILDS process.

South Carolina

Transcript Report Not Generating Consistently (LA-21151)
Resolved an intermittent issue where the SC Transcript Report failed to generate in some cases. Report generation is now stable.

Washington

New Student Search by Class Term Enrollment (LA-21112)
Washington users can now search for students based on their enrollment in specific class terms, supporting program-specific reporting needs.
