Young Workers

Young Workers

A young worker is defined as someone who has reached the compulsory school leaving age, but who is under the age of 18.

KGH does not permit young colleagues to work in excess of 8 hours per day and a maximum of 40 hours in a working week. If you have a second employer or carry out any casual work, you must inform the Company immediately.

As a young worker, you are not permitted to work between the hours of 12am to 4am. If you work on shifts between the hours of 10pm and 12am, you will be supervised at all time by an adult colleague.

Child Workers

A child worker is defined as someone who is compulsory school age.

Local bylaws list the jobs that you can’t do as a child. They may also have restrictions on your working hours, conditions of work and the type of employment.

There are special rules which apply to child workers, please speak to you Line Manager for further information.
