The Business Administrative Services program provides students with both basic and advanced skills necessary to begin and excel at employment in any business setting. Our core courses provide a well-rounded study of basic office skills in the areas of computer applications, accounting, sales and marketing, customer service, communication, and other various support skills. After working through the core courses, students choose either an administrative professional or an accounting clerk emphasis. Power skills, such as critical thinking, problem solving, and project management, are emphasized in each course. Throughout the program, students develop computer skills as they work toward obtaining Microsoft Office certifications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access. Students who choose the accounting clerk emphasis will be prepared to take the QuickBooks Certification test. These industry certifications enhance any resume and offer concrete evidence of superior computer skills.

The AAS in Business Management includes the study of business theory and principles applied in the many activities of business today, both nationally and worldwide. Emphasis is given to problem solving and decision making to prepare the graduate with decision-making skills for a variety of career areas.
These areas are designed to lead to employment as managers, manager-trainees, production planners and schedulers, engineering assistants, inventory control technicians, entrepreneurs, and a variety of other positions.

The Business Associate of Science degree is designed as a transfer degree to business schools at four-year institutions within the Utah System of Higher Education. Requirements at four-year colleges and universities are subject to change; ongoing planning is essential. Students interested in degrees designed for more immediate business employment should review the Certificate and Associate of Applied Science degrees.

SLCC Business and Personal Computing CP

This Certificate of Proficiency provides students foundational and necessary skills in Business and Personal Computing. Upon completion of the program, students will have learned the skills necessary to manage their own personal computing needs as well as some of the fundamental skills necessary for a small home-based business. There is a great demand for basic computer proficiency in business. To this end, in the future, this program may be used as a stackable credential for the Business and Personal Computing - Certificate of Completion or other CSIS AS or AAS degrees.

Graduates of this program obtain temporary employment and pursue a Bachelor's degree for more advanced training in Information Management.

Every industry relies heavily on competent, qualified, and professional office staff. The two-year AAS in Administrative Information Support program provides training for students seeking to develop their skills and knowledge of office administration and office systems. The program core focuses on word processing, presentations, graphics, spreadsheet, and database applications, as well as written and oral business communication skills, office procedures, and basic accounting skills.

The one-year certificate in Administrative Support program provides training in basic computer literacy and applications, such as word processing, presentations, graphics, and spreadsheet applications. In addition, students build skills in interpersonal and written business communication.
