Web developers create and maintain websites. Digital designers develop, create, and test website or interface layout, functions, and navigation for usability.

SLCC Mobile Application Development CP

Developing software for mobile devices such as the iPhone, Droid, and iPad requires a unique set of skills. This Certificate of Proficiency includes courses to teach students these skills. The student entering this program must have programming experience in an object oriented language such as Java, C++, C#, or Objective C. This experience should be equivalent to CSIS 1410.

The Web Graphic Design Certificate of Proficiency is designed to prepare students to design websites from concept to completion and includes coursework in basic design principles, website architecture, graphic design, web animation, audio and video production, and website promotion. Students will prepare a portfolio of websites they can use to demonstrate their skills to potential employers.

This program is designed to provide you with the necessary skills to design, create, and publish dynamic interactive web sites using the latest web design authoring software. The courses will provide you with skills to produce professional user-friendly web sites that will incorporate efficiency of design, and ease of maintenance. The Web Site Designer program provides comprehensive training in software applications and skills to prepare you for employment doing web design tasks in a variety of organizational settings.
SLCC Visual Art and Design: Web Design Emphasis AAS

Students who elect to pursue an AAS Degree in Graphic Design will prepare themselves for entry-level work in various applications of visual art, graphic design and advertising. Integral parts of this program, which are necessary for employment in the graphic design field, include design creativity and proficiency in current computer programs.

Web developers design and create websites and are responsible for the appearance of the site. Web developers are also responsible for a site’s technical aspects, such as performance and capacity, which are measures of a website’s speed and how much traffic the site can handle. The Web Business Certificate of Proficiency is related to and will facilitate the transition to web development positions. The certificate of proficiency will build pathways to other career and technical education programs.
