Teens Teach Tech, sponsored by AT&T, empowers teenagers to lead digital skills workshops for adults. Participants gain valuable experience in computer literacy, online safety, and mobile device usage. The Brown Tech Team earns $20 per adult trained until March 31, 2025, boosting both their resumes and their program funding. We would love to train as many adults from our school community as possible. Please consider completing this form to sign-up to help out Brown School Tech Team!

Churchill Downs Concession Volunteers Needed- As a major fundraiser for Brown Athletics, we are working at Churchill Downs concessions for several races (4/26. 4/27, 5/1, 5/2. 5/3) . This will go a long way in fully funding our athletic programs for next year. In order to do this, we need volunteers. The more volunteers we have, the more money we will raise to spend on our student-athletes. Volunteers will need to arrive two hours before the first race.
We will need some volunteers to complete an online training if you are going to serve alcohol. That takes about 2.5 hours to complete and costs $30 ($24 after coupon code) and is good for three years. This will need to be completed before 3/10. To compensate for your time, money and effort, if you do this and volunteer, we will give you a pass to all athletic events at Brown for the 2025-26 school year.
If you don't want to do the training, we can still use you in a different role. Also, your portion of the money raised will go to the team you choose. Please fill out the form if you are interested.

Boys HS Soccer- Boys HS Soccer is in need of some great coaching candidates for next year. If you have anyone that may be a great fit, please have them email matthew.davis@jefferson.kyschools.us
Middle and High School Outdoor Track- Outdoor track practice has started. It will be 3:30-4:45 Monday-Thursday at Central High School until construction begins there. All information you will need will be in the BAND app.
Paperwork: If your student needs athletic paperwork, the required forms are linked as follows: a sports physical, concussion form, insurance form, and safety video form. Students who are interested in trying out should make sure that their paperwork is current.
Fees- If you have not paid your FALL OR WINTER sports fees, please pay them immediately. Spring fees are now out for some sports. The rest will be sent out this week. These fees include equipment, uniforms, shirts, warm-ups, travel, etc. We cannot support our programs to the level that our athletes deserve if fees are not paid. Our fees are substantially less than other schools.

Family Resource/Youth Services Center Coordinator
Thank you to Jackson Bosley, who represented the Brown School at the FRYSC Legislative Page Day in Frankfort. Britainy Beshear made a surprise visit with the first dog, Winnie!
Mental Health Practitioner
As we move full steam into this new semester, I wanted to let all of our parents/guardians know that my services are available for students individually with guardian consent. If you would like me to meet with your student to work on any emotional or behavioral goals while at school, please reach out to me, and I will walk you through my referral process. Please also feel free to put any concerns on our student support form! In addition, I know that during this time of year there are often times where students may have concerns about self-harm or suicidal thoughts. A great resource for this is to call 988 or go to https://988lifeline.org/ .
High School Counselor

Middle School Counselor
Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD) will be speaking at Coffee with the Counselor TOMORROW from 8:30-9:30. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP here.
Also, I am working on visiting 5th-8th grade classrooms to talk scheduling of electives for next year. I hope to see all classes before spring break.
Please be sure to check in with your student on their grades, particularly if you have a student who is taking a high school credit bearing class (Spanish, ASL, Digital Literacy). Students must make a B or higher to receive credit for this class.
In addition, middle school students can not progress to the next grade if they have failed any of their core content classes (Math, Science, Social Studies, ELA). If your student is currently failing, they will have to do course recovery work in addtion to the work they arleady have to do in their classes, in order to progress. PLEASE encourage, motivate, and support your darling and look up their grades in Infinite Campus. Thanks so much!
