💛 March 26 | Issue #30 💛
Dear Brown School Family,
Our 6th Annual Self-Directed Learning Showcase was the best one we have ever had - and it wouldn't have been possible without the support of so many parent volunteers and our amazing PTSA! I want to give a huge shout out to staff members Drew Paige, Lisa Billings, and Sarah Yost for organizing this year. I also appreciate all the staff who signed in/out our record number of visitors for the event.
It was an incredible celebration of learning and I am so proud of the diversity of artifacts that students selected across grade levels. Our teachers have worked so hard providing vibrant learning experiences for our students, and our students just shined like the stars that they are!
Have a happy and restful spring break!
Love,
Dr. Angela

The Success League (formerly known as the Backpack League) is a JCPS program designed to support student growth beyond the traditional school day.Â
Through engaging learning experiences, students will build skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning—empowering them to gain confidence, stay on track, and reach their full potential.
Registration is open now!
Our K-8th graders are completing MAP assessments over the next few weeks. Our assessment window ends on 4/18.Â
Family Reports will be sent home with students by the end of April.Â
Your PTSA at Work:Â
Your PTSA membership dollars provided balloons and tablecloths for the SDL Showcase, decorations for Prom, and a healthy breakfast for the Junior Class preparing to take the ACT! Â

Mental Health Practitioner
I wanted to remind all of our parents/guardians that my services are available for students individually with guardian consent. If you would like me to meet with your student to work on any emotional or behavioral goals while at school, please reach out to me, and I will walk you through my referral process. Please also feel free to put any concerns on our student support form! In addition, I know that during this time of year there are often times where students may have concerns about self-harm or suicidal thoughts. A great resource for this is to call 988 or go to https://988lifeline.org/ .
If you need any support during spring break, here is the parent link to Care Solace, who are able to connect you with mental health providers. If there is a mental health emergency please call 911 or the appropriate emergency support line.
