💛 January 15| Issue #21 💛
Dear Brown School Family,
All JCPS schools shifted to a common platform called Thrillshare for creating and hosting school websites as of January 1, 2025. Our new website address is https://jeffersoncpsky.sites.thrillshare.com/o/brown. Please delete any bookmarks to the old website, as we will no longer be updating it. This will ensure you have access to the most up-to-date information.
As we work together to maintain a healthy and safe environment for all our students, we kindly remind you of a few important guidelines regarding illness and prevention:
Keep Sick Students Home
❤️ Students must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school.
🧡 If your student has symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, an undiagnosed rash, or other contagious conditions, please keep them home until they are fully recovered.
Practice Good Hygiene
💛 Encourage frequent handwashing with soap and water at home and remind your students to do the same at school. We encourage handwashing as well as the use of additional hand sanitizer.
💚 Remind your student to sneeze or cough into their elbow to prevent the spread of germs.
Prevention Measures
🩵 Reinforce the importance of not sharing food, drinks, or personal items such as hats with others.
💙 Promote healthy habits such as eating nutritious meals, staying hydrated, and getting enough sleep to boost their immune systems.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school community healthy. Your efforts make a big difference in reducing the spread of illness and ensuring a safe environment for all. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contract our school nurse Marie Kincaid.
Love,
Dr. Angela

One of the core missions of the Brown PTSA is to ensure that all students can fully participate in the incredible programming and events our school community offers. We believe that financial barriers should never stand in the way of student engagement and enrichment.
To support this commitment, we are pleased to offer assistance for families who may need help covering the cost of PTSA-sponsored events or other school programs. If you would like to request financial aid, you can do so confidentially by emailing us at Treasurer.
We want every student to feel welcome, included, and empowered to participate in the vibrant experiences that make our school special. Thank you for being a part of our community and for supporting the PTSA’s efforts to make a difference for all students.

Donations Needed - Brown to Host Regionals
The Brown School hosts the High School Quick Recall Regionals on February 22. As hosts, we are expected to provide a hospitality room for those adults working the event as scorers, timers, and question readers - about 20 people. We would greatly appreciate parents donating items to provide breakfast and lunch for the hospitality room.
Items that can be stored for a day can be dropped off at school on Friday, February 21. During the morning and afternoon carpool, our Quick Recall Team members will collect items at both school entrances.

MS Basketball: "8th Grade Night" for basketball is being rescheduled due to a scheduling conflict with the HS Varsity boys team making the regional "All-A" tournament finals. Several parents could not attend, and our boy's middle school coaches do assist with the high school team. We will reschedule the 8th Grade Night ceremonies for Wednesday, January 22nd, game versus Newcomer, between the 5 pm boys' varsity game and the 6 pm girls' JV game. It's not ideal to not have both varsity teams playing that night, but this is the only home game we have remaining this season that will work. Thanks for understanding, and we hope to see you all then.
