💛 July 25 | Issue #2 💛
Dear Brown School Family,
This Sunday is a great opportunity for your family to help our school get ready for a new school year as well as chance to connect with some wonderful students and families. We will be sprucing up and cleaning up our outdoor spaces (Peace Park, courtyard, etc.) so that we are safely ready to receive our remarkable students for K Camp, orientations, and school starting! Please plan to attend!
🌳 Sunday, July 28th - 12:30 to 3:30 PM
🌷 Bring gardening tools such as rakes, pruning shears, gardening gloves, hoes, pruning saws, edgers, weed eaters, hand trowels, etc.
🐝 The PTSA will provide disposable gloves and bags.
🌾 Park on the west side of S. 1st Street or in the gravel in the back alley of the school.
I truly appreciate your help with this! I'd love to see a strong showing of our families this Sunday. Many hands make a lighter load, and our students deserve it!
Love,
Dr. Angela

Q&A Time
Our Meet-and-Greet is an opportunity to locate classrooms, join the PTSA, purchase Brown School swag, say "Hi" to teachers, drop off school supplies, put items in lockers/cubbies (if available), drop off paperwork, pick up car rider tags, and get any last-minute questions answered.
All first-time Brown students should attend to familiarize themselves with our facility before the first day of school.
Please remember that our Meet-and-Greet will now be held on Tuesday, August 6th, from 1:30 to 2:30 PM.
The elementary homeroom teachers will hand out car rider tags at the August 6 Meet-and-Greet. Any middle and/or high school parent needing a car rider tag for their student must request one in the main office during the Meet-and-Greet.
Elementary parents must be prepared to pick the primary way their child will exit the building.
The three choices are:
CEP (after-school childcare) K-8
Car Rider (exits into the alley) K-5
Gym Walk-up (exits doors onto Muhammad Ali) 6-12

College/Scholarship Info:
All High School Students:
If you are taking an AP class, start thinking about the AP Test. By mid-October, please make sure you have joined the course on the College Board's website and designate your response to ordering a test (yes or no). Your teacher will have more info in September. No late orders will be allowed.
Seniors, please consider scheduling college visits now before school starts! Although you can visit during the school year, if it conflicts with a school day, it can impact your performance during this pivotal year! One great way to visit schools beyond Kentucky is through a "Fly-In Program."
Sophomores and Juniors:
The PSAT/NMSQT will be offered at Brown on a school day in mid-October. ALL JUNIORS are automatically enrolled. Sophomores can opt-in by completing a form that is available after the first day of school. In mid-September, a charge will be added to your MySchoolBucks account. In years past, this fee was around $20.
