💛 August 7 | Issue #4 💛
Dear Brown School Family,
I had a wonderful time yesterday meeting so many new families to our school community at yesterday's annual Meet & Greet. It was also great to see our returning students and seeing how much they have grown over the summer! Thank you so much for coming out to meet our teachers, drop off supplies, and join our PTSA. I appreciate your partnership and engagement!
Some reminders for tomorrow:
💛 Our doors open at 7:20 AM. Please do not drop off your student before that time.
🐻 Breakfast is served from 7:20 to 7:50 AM. Please make sure if your student is going to eat, they are dropped off early enough to finish before school begins.
💙 School starts at 8:00 AM.
⚠️ Dismissal plan changes for elementary students must be called into the office at 502-485-8216 by 2:00 PM.
🚙 Dismissal begins at 2:40 PM. Middle and high school students must exit our building by 2:50. Our goal is to finish up with Car Rider Alley and Gym Door Walk Up by 3:00 PM. The first days of school usually result in delays in our systems, but we always put student safety first. Please grant us some patience the first few weeks.
Love,
Dr. Angela

Beginning the first week of school, JCPS families of students who do not report to their assigned school within the first few days of school may receive a check-in call from Family Scholar House staff. JCPS has partnered with Family Scholar House to learn about any possible barriers that may be preventing students from attending. Your information is safe with them! We are working together to support JCPS students!

Welcome back!
We're very excited to have you all back for the 24-25 school year. As the year is starting up I just wanted to remind parents/guardians of the mental health services that are available to your students.
1. We have a quiet space in the Student Support Center. This area is available to all students who need a break to re-center themselves or calm down. All they need to do is ask their teacher to use the space, and they will have up to 15 minutes before needing to speak to a SST member.
2. Any member of the SST is able to refer your student or a family member for mental health services in the community through JCPS's partnership with Care Solace. If you would like external mental health services please reach out to me or your counselor to make a referall and walk you through the process.
3. Individual and Group services are available from me throughout the school year. I am able to meet with all students with parent/guardian permission. Typically I meet with students once a week for up to 30 minutes at a time (this can vary depending on need). If you are interested in my services please reach out to me via my email and I can send you a permission form to get services started.
4. If there are any other mental health concerns, or material/educational concerns that you feel we could help with please fill out a support form, and one of us will reach out to you within 3 school days.
We look forward to seeing you and your students later this week!
