💛 April 16 | Issue #31 💛
Dear Brown School Family,
I want to extend a special congratulations to our students who were accepted to the Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program and the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts. Opportunities like this don't come easily, and this speaks volumes about their character, potential, and commitment to growth.
I am actually an alumni of both programs (GSP, '90, WKU; GSA - Vocal Music, '89, Bellarmine), so I'm deeply aware of the hard work, dedication, and passion that it takes to gain acceptance. (That's 17 year old me in the photo during my summer at GSP!) Participation in these programs were life changing for me, especially since I came from a home were I would become the first person to graduate from high school and from college.
I am so proud of these students for stepping up, standing out, and embracing challengings that will stretch their skills and expand their horizons. May they enjoy every moment, make meaningful connections, and know that I am cheering them on every step of the way!
Love,
Dr. Angela

The Environmental Club is pleased to announce we will hold our 2025 Earth Day celebration on Friday, April 25th. The Environmental Club has been working hard to create engaging activities for all grades and has a request from our school in order to make that happen. Here is the list of items for Earth Day that we need help with. You can drop items off in room 324 (Andrew Gray’s room).Â
Feel free to share this information on any class pages or family contacts and anything we do not use will be recycled or repurposed. Thanks for your support as always!
The Firefly and Moonbeam Trip to the Zoo will be a day to remember!
Overall timeline: Wednesday, April 23rdÂ
Seniors and Kindergarten students will leave the lobby at 9:30 AM. We are taking a bus to the zoo. Firefly and Moonbeam pairs will stay together the entire field trip. We will return to school by 2 PM.
Reminders: Students should bring a snack and a water bottle, in addition to having their packed or sack lunch. Kindergarteners should wear their special zoo day shirt. Seniors will be in blue attire. This day is about presence and not presents, so we've asked all to refrain from purchasing treats or gift shop items.

Your PTSA at work...
Did you know that our high school Quick Recall Team has qualified to participate in the National Quiz Bowl competition in Chicago at the end of April? The PTSA has provided some support and the team has done a lot of fundraising, but they still need your help to get there! The team is hosting a Dine Out Fundraiser - TONIGHT - April 16 at Tony Boombozz Westport Village. You can dine in or carry out to benefit the team but make sure you show the attached flier (which can be downloaded to your phone) - printed or electronically - so the team gets your support! You can also order fudge from Morgan's Fudge between today and April 21. Details are on the website: www.morgansfudge.net.Â
