조인한 《여섯 풍경》
미풍에 흔들리는 나뭇가지 그림자가 드리워진 벽과 놀이하는 인간이 마치 분리된 적 없는 순간처럼 포착된 이미지의 표면. 관광버스의 비좁은 복도 틈에 율동하는 뒤엉킨 몸체들이 표출하는 불가해한 에너지. 기록과 상상 사이에서 끝없이 점멸하는 만주 풍경 이미지와 소리. 흰발농게 관광조형물의 매끈한 표면에 비친 네온 불빛의 하이퍼 리얼리티. 현실보다 더 현실 같은 도시 전경 바로 밑 늪지대에서 무언가를 더듬거리며 찾는 인물.
《여섯 풍경》은 불가해한 현실 공간 안에서 손전등처럼 미세한 불빛을 비추어가며 조인한 작가가 지난 십여 년간 조심스럽게 찾아낸 그만의 궤적을 조망한다.

작가 소개
조인한은 작가이자 무빙이미지 기획자이다. 그의 작업은 뉴욕 영화제, 앤아버 영화제, 오버하우젠 영화제, 이미지 페스티벌, DMZ 다큐 영화제, 국립현대미술관 등에서 상영되었다. 개인 작업과 더불어 아시아 아티스트 무빙이미지 플랫폼(AAMP)의 일원 및 서울국제실험영화페스티벌(EXiS) 프로그래머로 활동하고 있다.

조선프롤레타리아예술가동맹(KAPF) 작가 이기영에 관한 작업. 경향문학의 대표적 작가인 그는 광복 이후 월북하여 북한 문학에서 중추적인 역할을 하였다. <서화>는 정월대보름날에 한 해 동안의 액막이로서 하는 쥐불놀이를 뜻하며, 이기영의 1933 년작 소설 제목이기도 하다. 텍스트를 제외한 모든 푸티지는 정월대보름 축제 때 여러 마을에서 촬영되었다.
서식지에서

생물이 일정한 곳에 자리를 잡고 사는 곳을 서식지라 하는데, 여기에는 주위 환경의 조건과 생물적 및 비생물적 요소가 모두 포함된다. 서식지의 자연적 생성은 그래서 까다롭다. 여기 동전만 한 크기의 두 동물이 있다. 이들은 새로운 서식지로, 다른 종에 의한 강제 이주에 직면해 있다. 그 때문에 평소에 다니던 길이 막히고 돌아서 가려 하니 곳곳에 있는 건 깊은 함정들이다. 모든 감각을 동원해서 조심스럽게 움직이지만, 이 함정을 피할 수 있을까?
조수 호출자

큰 집게다리를 흔드는 행동이 조수를 부르는 것처럼 보이기 때문에 붙여진 흰발농게의 또 다른 이름은 '조수 호출자'이다.

Inhan Cho
Inhan Cho is an artist and researcher of film and video. His works have screened at international film festivals and exhibition venues including New York Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Images Festival, EXiS, DMZ Docs, Arkipel, and the Seoul National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. In addition to his personal work, he is a co-founder of Asian Artist Moving Image Platform (AAMP). Currently he works as a programmer of the Experimental Film and Video Festival in Seoul (EXiS).

Early in the morning a group of elderly people get on the bus. They encounter traces of live fish and whales. Over time, they bless their time, presence and intimate bonding. A running bus could possibly go anywhere between life and death. A daily outing record of residents of a rural village.
Manchuria 2

This film is an attempt to create the certain sense of places in Manchuria. Sound and images excerpts from Manchurian action films and official photo documents of Manchuria areas are crossed to arouse sensory experiences.
Rat Fire

A portrait of Lee Ki-young, a novelist who led the proletarian literature movement in Korea during the Japanese colonial period. He defected to North Korea after liberation from Japanese colonial rule and played a pivotal role in North Korea literature. Rat Fire, also the title of his novel written in 1933, is a traditional play to make a fire on fields to exterminate harmful insects and rats during the festival celebrating for the first full moon of the lunar year. All footage except the text is shot in several villages during the festival since 2012.
At the Habitat

Habitat is a place where living things settle and live, including environmental conditions and both biotic and abiotic factors. The natural creation of habitats is thus tricky. Here are two animals the size of a coin. They face forced translocation by another species. Because of this, the road they used to go was blocked and there are deep traps everywhere. Move carefully using all their senses, but can they avoid these traps?

As another name of Uca Lactea, ‘tide caller’ refers to the way the males wave their large white claw over their heads as if they beckon the tides to come in.
