《알고리즘 시대의 친밀성》은 베를린 기반 아티스트 가브리엘 헨셰(Gabriel Hensche)의 영상 작품을 상영하고, 이에 대한 대화를 나누는 시간이다. 상영작들은 챗봇이 일상의 동반자가 되고, 테크 기업들이 우리의 관심사를 넘어 친밀성까지 포획하려 하는 동시대 기술 환경에서, 사회적 존재로서 삶의 의미를 탐색한다. 

헨셰의 작업을 매개로, 디지털 친밀성, AI 심리학, 알고리즘과 정서(Affect) 간의 관계 등 핵심 주제를 심도 있게 논의할 예정이다. 더불어, 작가가 현재 진행 중인 공동 프로젝트 <디지털 시대를 위한 연습(Exercises for the Digital Age)>을 소개한다. 이 프로젝트는 디지털 환경에서 생존하기 위한 예술적 실천 기반의 실용적 '방법론(how-to)'을 일련의 연습(exercises) 형태로 제안한다.

작가 소개
가브리엘 헨셰는 무빙 이미지, 퍼포먼스, 상황적 개입을 주요 매체로 활용하는 독일 작가이다. 그의 실천은 동시대 기술적 발전 상황 안에서 유희, 친밀함, 함께하기의 가능성을 탐구한다. 그는 슈투트가르트 HMDK의 Campus Gegenwart 설립에 참여했으며, 2023년부터 School of Commons (ZHdK) 리더십 팀의 일원으로 피어 러닝(peer learning) 프로그램을 총괄하고 있다. 2024년에는 베를린 사회의학 카지노에서 University of Tiny Moments를 공동 설립했다. 헨셴의 작품은 국제 비엔날레, 갤러리, 영화제 등에서 온/오프라인 플랫폼을 통해 발표되었다.



Gabriel Hensche: Intimacy in the Algorithmic Age
Screening + Conversation

Berlin-based artist Gabriel Hensche will present and discuss a selection of his works that explore what it means to be a social being in the face of current technological developments —when chatbots become our daily companions and tech companies reach beyond our attention to seek our intimacy.

The event will focus on a selection of Hensche’s moving image works that investigate themes of (digital) intimacy, the psychology of AI, and the relationship between algorithms and affect.

In addition, we will present Gabriel’s ongoing collaborative project, “Exercises for the Digital Age,” a series of how-to exercises based on artistic practices that aim to help audiences survive and thrive in the digital age.

About the Artist

Gabriel Hensche is a German artist working with moving image, performance, and constructed situations. His practice explores forms of playfullness, togetherness, and possibilities of intimacy in the face of current technological developments. He contributed to the founding of Campus Gegenwart at HMDK Stuttgart, and since 2023 has been part of the leadership team at the School of Commons (ZHdK), where he oversees the peer learning program. In 2024, he co-founded the University of Tiny Moments at the Casino for Social Medicine in Berlin. His works have been presented online and offline in museums, biennials, galleries, film festivals, residencies, and public spaces.
