苗栗市八甲茶園每到冬季面臨缺水問題，本校與校園附近的茶園已簽約，允許茶園使用本校之中水系統及大學池裡的水源進行灌溉。八甲茶園缺乏充分水源灌溉，尤其冬季缺水嚴重，苗栗市農會總幹事謝錦明表示，在水保局協助省水、省工計畫中，利用國立聯合大學提供的1公頃多土地，作為示範區設置蓄水池，透過太陽能電力抽用南龍坑溪水源至蓄水池，提供周邊6公頃以上茶園灌溉，並將示範區打造成公園景致，搭建小橋、設置步道、座椅、拍照打卡地標等，讓遊客走訪茶園，認識茶業文化。

The Bajia Tea Plantation in Miaoli City faces recurring water shortages during the winter season. National United University has entered into an agreement with nearby tea plantations, authorizing the use of the University’s reclaimed water system and the water resources from the campus reservoir for irrigation purposes.

Given the severe lack of irrigation water—particularly during the dry season—Mr. Hsieh Chin-Ming, General Secretary of the Miaoli City Farmers’ Association, stated that under the Water and Soil Conservation Bureau’s water- and labor-saving initiative, a demonstration project was implemented utilizing more than one hectare of land provided by National United University. A storage reservoir was constructed on the demonstration site, powered by solar energy to pump water from the Nanlongkeng Creek into the reservoir. This system now supplies irrigation water to over six hectares of surrounding tea plantations.

Furthermore, the demonstration area has been designed to serve as a scenic ecological park, featuring small bridges, walking paths, seating areas, and landmark photo spots, thereby offering visitors opportunities to explore the tea plantations and gain a deeper understanding of local tea culture.
