To advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and implement sustainable development policies, National United University, in accordance with the policy directions of the Council of Indigenous Peoples, has continuously prepared and applied for the “Subsidy Program for Indigenous Knowledge Research and Teaching Activities in Higher Education Institutions.”
This initiative has been ongoing for seven to eight consecutive years, and in 2023, the University submitted a proposal for an extended three-year comprehensive project.
During the planning and implementation stages, the University systematically identified the educational and cultural innovation needs and challenges of indigenous communities and teaching environments. Based on these findings, annual educational promotion strategies were developed, encompassing community visits, craft workshops, cultural and creative industry training, and the curation of annual teaching achievement exhibitions.
Throughout the project’s implementation, National United University continuously monitored program effectiveness and impact, compiling performance data and analytical reports to be submitted to the Council of Indigenous Peoples. These findings serve as an evidence-based reference for subsequent policy adjustments and resource allocation decisions, ensuring that the program contributes effectively to cultural preservation, indigenous education, and sustainable development objectives.
