This example goes over Branch Wiring Takeoffs using an EMT SS STL spec with 3/4” conduit and 6#12’s.
1. In Breakdowns, change the Bid Item, Drawing, Area, and Phase as needed. Select Systems – 010 Site Electrical – Primary Power only. Select the Takeoff Task - Branch Lighting & Power (Conduit & Wire).
This sets the appropriate specification and Takeoff Pad.
2. Ensure the correct Attributes are selected.
Cuts, Joints, Hangers, and Ground Wire are turned on. The hanger type is a 1-hole Strap and the attachment is an On-Concrete Profile to mount the conduit.
Note: When performing takeoffs of branch and feeder conduit home runs, the Junction Box attribute should be turned off.
3. On the Takeoff Pad, click “3/4” 6#12 w/#12 Gnd”.
4. In the assembly menu, verify/enter:
a. Wiring Method? = Conduit and Wire
b. Conduit Size = 3/4”
c. # of Wires = 6
d. Wire Size = #12
e. Ground Size = #12
f. Makeup % = 10
g. Box / Fitting Type = Stamped Steel Box
h. #Connectors per Count = 2
i. Conduit Length = 100
j. # Counts = 1
5. Press Enter or select “OK” to finish the takeoff.
6. In the Audit Trail, observe the completed line of takeoff.
