Click the Specification button.
2. Select “Copy Specifications…” from the ribbon at the top.
3. Single click the > to navigate through the folders to the required specification (yellow-orange ball).

Note: Do not double click on a folder. This adds every spec under that folder to the job.
4. Double -click the specification from the left panel to move it to the right panel or select the specification and click the right arrow.
5. Select “OK”.
Note: All new specifications will be brought in at the bottom of the list.
6. Close the Specification breakdown by clicking the “X” in the upper right corner of the dialog box.
7. To link the specifications to a takeoff task, click the Takeoff Task button
8. Click the Specification cell dropdown menu. Check the correct specification(s) to link to the takeoff task.
Note: By selecting the “Is Default” radio button, this specification becomes the default spec. By checking the checkbox, this specification becomes an available choice from the drop-down list. See #10 below.
9. Close the Takeoff Task breakdown by clicking the “X” in the upper right corner of the dialog box.
10. For each Takeoff Task, a unique set of Specifications will appear. All specs listed above the line of tildes (~~~~~~~~~~) are acceptable options that will function with that Takeoff Tasks. Do not select a Specification below that line, your takeoff will fail.
1. Click the Takeoff Task Button
2. Select the ellipsis in the specification column for the appropriate Takeoff Task.
3. Navigate the folder structure and expand the appropriate folder.
4. Either double-click a specification from the left side of the dialog box, or single left-click a specification and use the ">" in the middle of the dialog box to move it to the right pane.
5. Select OK
6. Once the dialog box closes, the specification will be loaded into your estimate.
7. Now that the specification is loaded, you will need to "associate" the specification with one for more Takeoff Task(s)
8. Select the drop-down arrow located next to the ellipsis.
9. Check the correct specification(s) to link to the takeoff task.
