Students continue drafting their writing, using clear openers.

We are learning to make our writing more interesting with strong words and smooth sentences.
Play sentence launch with students. Place them in to mixed ability groups, or play as a class.
Teacher to conference at point of need, or adding detail to our writing. Small group work with teacher group could invlove creating compound/complext sentences.
Students pick a draft and circle 2 “boring words” to improve.
Challenge/Extension: add one simile or piece of dialogue.

Provide students with teacher starter differentiated editing cards. Students can complete in small groups/pairs/individually.
Children to continue working on drafting their writing pieces. Once completed, they will edit their writing. Year 1's may use the CUPS method:

Year 2's may use the editing pencil.
Gallery walk: students leave one sticky note of positive feedback on a peer’s work.
Hook: Students write down/ draw all the words they can think of that start with their letter. Model forming letters of need correctly.
