Greetings CTEC Stakeholders,
As we move into the month of March, we are excited to continue providing meaningful learning experiences and leadership development opportunities for our students. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support of the work happening across CTEC, CTE, and our JROTC programs.
We are quickly approaching the end of the 3rd Nine Weeks marking period, which closes on March 13. Report cards will be going home soon, and this is an important time to ensure that grades, assignments, and academic expectations are up to date.
Additionally, Industry-Based Credential (IBC) testing is ramping up across multiple pathways. The urgency of this season should be reflected in our classroom focus, preparation efforts, and student accountability. This is a critical time to reinforce skills, review content, and ensure students are prepared to successfully earn their credentials.
As always, we continue to embrace our Superintendent’s challenge to “DARE TO BE GREAT.” Together, we will continue to support our students, maintain high expectations, and create opportunities that lead to success in college, careers, and life. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making CTEC a place where excellence thrives.

Students enrolled in CTEC remain registered at their home high schools but attend CTEC for half a day every other day. This arrangement allows them to benefit from specialized training while maintaining their connection to their home school.
CTEC is designed to provide comprehensive career and technical education that aligns with regional industry needs, promotes equitable access to career pathways, and enhances both student outcomes and local economic development.

Elementary, middle, and high school students from several EBR schools recently participated in Southern University’s Ag Experience Day on Wednesday, February 25. Students engaged in interactive learning as they encountered live animals, explored hands-on agricultural demonstrations, and connected directly with agriculture professionals.
Experiences like this ignite curiosity, build career awareness, and strengthen the connection between classroom learning and real-world opportunities. We are excited to see the growing interest in agriculture programs across our district and proud of our students for embracing hands-on learning in such meaningful ways!
This morning, we heard from Dr. Ni'Shawn Stovall with EBR workforce readiness and Nicole Scott with the Bridge Agency Inc., during a powerful co-keynote session that set the tone for the day.
They shared insight into the programs they lead, how they actively support and develop our youth, and what meaningful partnerships look like in action. From hands-on engagement to collaborative program models, the conversation highlighted the importance of intentional investment and strong community alignment in building real workforce pathways.
When organizations come together with a shared mission, our youth win!
Last week, Liberty Magnet High School JROTC Cyber Cadets were invited to present at Louisiana State University in Allen Hall thanks to Professor Kellie Dieutto.
Team “Tech Defenders,” part of the Teens Teach Tech initiative supported by AT&T and the Public Library Association, delivered a cybersecurity awareness session to 63 LSU students. Using TikTok as a real-world case study, cadets explained social media terminology, data collection practices, and privacy risks, while also educating participants about cyber threats such as phishing emails and skimming devices.
Through engaging, interactive activities, our cadets reinforced digital safety and responsibility while demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and a strong commitment to community outreach.
We are incredibly proud of the way they represented Liberty and shared their knowledge beyond our campus. Patriot Pride!
