EBR Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) is a regional training provider for high school students in high demand, high paying jobs in the Capital Region. CTEC provides rigorous, project-based instruction, Industry Based Credentials (IBC), and dual enrollment opportunities that can be used towards an Associate Degree while in high school.

Welcome Back to the Career and Technical Education Center!

The Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) provides students with unique opportunities to explore specialized career pathways not available at their home schools. CTEC equips students with the skills and experiences needed for success in high-demand industries and post-secondary education by offering hands-on training, industry-aligned certifications, and innovative learning environments.

CTEC is available to students interested in pathways not offered at home school sites.

We’re excited to welcome all our students, staff, and instructors back for another incredible year of hands-on learning and career exploration! Whether you're returning to continue your journey or stepping into our labs and classrooms for the first time, we’re proud to have you as part of our CTE family.

This year promises new opportunities to grow your skills, connect with industry professionals, and prepare for a successful future in your chosen field — whether it's healthcare, technology, trades, or beyond.

October continues to be an exciting and productive month as we celebrate Careers in Construction Month and showcase the many opportunities our students have to engage with industry, develop their skills, and demonstrate leadership. Please take note of the upcoming events and activities happening across CTEC and our JROTC programs:

A Message from Lt. Col. Morrison

"If you went to the game last night, you may have seen something different from the JROTC department. What you saw was the future of the program. I have been here four years, and I have never seen so many cadets motivated and dedicated to the program. What you saw was 11 cadets who dedicated their time, some of which were splitting time with other extracurricular activities, to learn the art of drill. And that was not all of them, we probably had at least 5-8 more who wanted to do it but couldn't make it yesterday. Oh, and 99% of them are 9th graders! If you have these cadets in your class, please share with them how proud you are of them. They are really making a difference in our program, and they make it easy for CSM Wheeler and me to come to work every day."

Our Health Science Pathway and Magnet program is flourishing, and the Medical Program is officially up and running!

Students now have the incredible opportunity to become Certified Medical Assistants by the end of the school year — setting them up for success in high-demand healthcare careers. 💉🩺

Industry-Based Credentials (IBCs)

Recognized certifications that validate a student’s skills in a specific trade or profession.

IBCs align with workforce needs and enhance employability in high-demand career fields immediately after graduation.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT (WFD) OVERVIEW:

The Workforce Development Department consists of Career and Technical Education, Work-Based Learned Programs (Internship), the Career and Technical Education Center, and JROTC programs across the district.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT (WFD) GOALS:

Goal 1: Ensure that all high schools and the Career Center have fully developed and implemented course progressions aligned with LDOE College and Career Pathways, with a focus on increasing the attainment of Industry-Based Certifications (IBCs).
Goal 2: Increase student participation in Work-Based Learning experiences, such as internships, and grow business partnerships that align with district goals.
Goal 3: Deliver curriculum support and professional development to CTE, Innovative Programs, and JROTC teachers across the district to increase instructional effectiveness, student achievement, align opportunities for Industry-Based Certification (IBC) attainment, and promote college and career readiness.
