Woodlawn High School - 11/19 & 11/20
We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our JROTC cadets who competed in the JLAB Leadership Bowl at Istrouma High School on November 13. Ten teams participated, each exceptionally prepared by their dedicated coaches, making this year’s competition one of the most spirited and engaging yet. Many cadets shared that the event was a highlight of their year and expressed strong interest in participating in more leadership competitions moving forward.
The top four teams of JLAB Bowl 1 are:
🥇 1st Place – Belaire Magnet High School
🥈 2nd Place – Liberty Magnet High School
🥉 3rd Place – Northeast High School (Tie)
🥉 3rd Place – McKinley High School (Tie)
These results set the stage for the next round—JLAB Bowl 2 in February 2026, where teams will compete for a chance to advance to the national finals in Washington, D.C., in June 2026.
Congratulations to all JLAB 1 teams and coaches for your preparation, leadership, and excellence!
Our high school was recently recognized for earning Ducks Unlimited Industry-Based Certifications (IBCs)! East Baton Rouge (EBR) schools collectively earned the second-highest number of Ducks Unlimited IBCs in the entire state, and we are proud to be part of this accomplishment.
We are especially excited about this certification because it focuses on ecology, conservation, and protecting Louisiana’s natural environment—all areas that are vital to the future of our state. Even more, the Ducks Unlimited IBC is one of three components of a new Louisiana Workforce Commission Basic Bundle, identified as important for developing the skills needed in Louisiana’s workforce.
A special congratulations to the EBR schools that earned 10 or more Ducks Unlimited IBCs:
