As we wrap up another exciting and impactful week at CTEC, we'd like to take a moment to highlight some of the incredible things happening across our campus.
Weekly Recap:
On April 9, our Medical Instructors attended the Mini Sun Conference: Simulation Synergy – Bridging Knowledge and Practice. This professional learning opportunity allowed our team to deepen their skills and explore new ways to enhance instruction through hands-on simulation experiences.
On April 10, CTEC had the honor of hosting the Statewide CTE Summit, sponsored by Apple Education. We were proud to partner in this innovative event that brought together educators and industry leaders from across the state to share best practices, network, and explore the future of career and technical education.
Looking Ahead:
On April 16, many of our industry TECs will participate in BRCC’s Technical Education Career Fair. This is a valuable opportunity for them to connect with local employers, explore post-secondary pathways, and practice their networking skills.
On April 18, there will be no school in observance of Good Friday, which also marks the start of our Spring Break Holiday.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and programs. We remain committed to preparing our learners for high-wage, high-demand careers and lifelong success. Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable spring break!

Career and Technical Education around the District!
Congratulations to Omar RASHID for being selected to participate in the A-HEC of a Summer program. The A-HEC of a Summer program is an exciting opportunity for ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade students with at least a 2.0 GPA who are interested in pursuing a healthcare career. These students are given a chance to explore different career opportunities in medicine by volunteering at local hospitals.
Northdale Superintendent Academy (NSA) is thrilled to announce its first Sneaker Ball for high school students, taking place Friday, May 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the NSA campus. Students will arrive dressed in formal wear—paired with their favorite sneakers—for an event full of style and celebration.
To ensure every student can attend with pride and confidence, NSA is seeking donations of new or gently used men's formalwear items such as suits, tuxedos, dress shirts, ties, socks, belts, and sneakers. This special event supports students who often face challenges such as overage school entry, repeated grade levels, chronic absences, or risk of dropout. Your contributions can make a lasting impact.
All donations are requested by April 30, 2025. To support, please contact Chauna Banks at cbanks1@ebrschools.org or call (225) 615-8661 or (225) 505-1202. No gift is too small—help us dress our young men for success!
Thank you to everyone who supported the successful execution of Cadet Challenge 2025 last week! Your dedication helped ensure that the training met the Commander’s intent (DAI) in a safe and efficient manner. Cadets from all participating schools demonstrated outstanding effort and competitive spirit throughout the entire event. It was inspiring to witness such high levels of motivation, discipline, and teamwork from our future leaders. Great job to all involved!
TARA High will be hosting the Arrive Alive in '25 Safe Driving Campaign Kickoff & Press Conference on Monday, April 28th. This is a district-wide event, held in partnership with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, aimed at promoting safe driving awareness among students across East Baton Rouge Parish during prom and graduation season and as we approach the summer months.
As part of this initiative, EBR students are invited to participate in a Public Service Announcement (PSA) Video Contest, where they can create impactful, peer-driven messages that promote safe decision-making behind the wheel—such as seat belt safety, avoiding distracted driving, and saying no to driving under the influence.
We are looking for businesses to participate in our Summer 2025 and Fall/Spring 25/26 Internship "Learn and Earn" Program.
