As we wrap up another productive week at CTEC, I want to extend my gratitude for your continued support of our students, programs, and mission to provide high-quality, career-focused education.
This past week was filled with meaningful moments that reflect the heart of CTEC:
On April 1st, we welcomed students from Glasgow Middle School for a field trip that gave them an early glimpse into the exciting pathways available at CTEC.
On April 3rd, we proudly hosted the Pre-LPN Pinning & White Coat Ceremony, celebrating the dedication and commitment of our aspiring healthcare professionals.
On April 4th, students from Southdowns Pre-K visited our Carpentry class to see the custom-built playhouse designed especially for them. The joy on their faces reminded us all why hands-on, purpose-driven learning matters.
Looking ahead to next week, we’re excited to spotlight two major events:
On April 9th, our Medical team will participate in the Mini Sun Conference: Simulation Synergy – Bridging Knowledge and Practice, where they’ll engage in rich, hands-on learning that pushes the boundaries of medical training.
On April 10th, we’ll take part in the Statewide CTE Summit, sponsored by Apple Education, where we’ll connect with fellow CTE leaders and innovators to share strategies and explore new possibilities for our students.
Thank you for your partnership as we continue to empower the next generation of skilled professionals. Have a restful weekend, and we look forward to another week of growth and opportunity.

A message from Mrs. Edwards,
"Truly, thank you for allowing me to be a part of the SkillsUSA experience this year. Witnessing the students' dedication and passion was incredibly moving. Each one poured their heart into their competitions, and their genuine excitement was palpable. It was so inspiring. Jeremy Boudreaux, the state representative, shared that the judges were so impressed by the winners' skill levels that they'd hire them on the spot – a testament to the students' remarkable talent. Calvin Vanner's computer programming victory, achieved through his mastery of advanced coding, was nothing short of extraordinary. Damarion Lacey's stunning photography, which triumphed over a large field, showcased his exceptional eye and talent. Deldres Long, competing solo in Motor Control, not only earned his judge's high praise but also secured an internship – a direct result of his impressive skills. And Makayla Phillips, facing significant challenges in Architecture, persevered and demonstrated a resilience that will serve her well in her future career. And Chase Chriss' positive attitude and sportsmanship was truly noticeable regardless of not winning a medal. I am immensely proud of each of these students. They represented EBR School System with such distinction, and their hard work and dedication were truly inspiring to witness. Their futures are bright."
Sincerely,
Ms. Edwards

We’re excited to share a recent project from Glen Oaks High School’s Welding Program! Our talented students had the opportunity to create a flag stand for our JROTC program. 🇺🇸
The stand was made from pipe and 5/8ths steel plate, with a custom wooden box to keep the flag off the ground. A big shoutout to one of our student foremen for his creative idea to burn the wood for a natural stain — it turned out AMAZING! 🌟
Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. We’re proud of the hard work our students put in, and we’re excited to see what’s next! 🙌
