Mr. Berardy's students had some fierce competition with each other during a Robot Race!
Mr. Ziff's 6th grade iLead class had some fun this week. They worked on putting their group dynamics project skills into action by having remote students on a chromebook direct them around an obstacle course without looking.
In 7th grade Social Studies with Mrs. Petersen, students have begun their work on South Asia! They have researched individual countries in the region and have been working collaboratively on an inquiry to investigate the role monsoons play in shaping the climate and daily lives of people living in the region.

Mr. Dorr's 6th grade science class was learning doing a lesson on fingerprinting today. It just so happened today that Trooper Andrew Crook was visiting our school today to talk to classes about what to do during a lockdown drill. Perfect timing - the students had an opportunity to take a fingerprint of our local law enforcement!
Ms. Jones' EGMS students in her Quarter 3 Health Class have been doing a ¨Lunch Bunch¨ on their remote learning snow days. On Remote Wednesday, they did a ¨Snack Attack"meet just to check in, have a snack, and share about their days! The students really look forward to these!
This year, several students from EGMS participated once again in the Abigail Phelps Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Competition. Students who participated wrote historical fiction stories placing their characters in colonial Boston during and immediately after the Boston Massacre.
We are excited that two East Granby students placed in this year’s competition!
Congratulations to Chloe Rapose who placed first in the eighth grade category and Hansika Lenkala who placed first in the seventh grade category.

Students in Mrs. Petersen's Social Studies class shared their pictures from their trips to India to launch the new unit on South Asia! The word is that these students made a website for this... and when asked about it, they said they made it "just because".
Dr. Faulkner's 8th graders are always busy between learning new science, raising salmon and taking care of the plants in the greenhouse!
