One of the most beloved toys that inspired us over the semester was “Mr. Potato Head” from “Toy Story” movie. While playing and doing activities with this toy, we got the idea to create a Mr. Potato Head by using vegetables and fruits or by drawing them. They named their creations and recited some body parts learned for the activity.

This activity allowed young children to learn with their five senses: touch, taste, sight, smell and sound. As well as introducing children to different elements and vocabularies, such as the names of body parts, vegetables and fruits.

Giving children opportunities to create with their hands not only help practice fine motor skills but also give them the space to use their imagination. Each character has a name and a story of its own.

This is "Sweetie", Guillermina's apple head.
