Intro to Minerals Lab - Exploration

Goals:

1.) Go through all 15 Minerals, one at a time.

2.) As you examine the mineral, match up the number to the name on the sheet.

3.) Examine each carefully. What do you notice?

- Colors

- Feel/Texture - Smooth or Rough?

- Does it feel hard or soft?

- How is it the same or different than others?

- Which ones are similar and which ones are completely different?

4.) Find the mineral you are looking at HERE!!! Geology.com

5.) Once you click on the name of the mineral, look at the different samples given and most importantly, scroll down to the "Uses" of the mineral.
