UPDATE - 5 Assignments are posted to your Google Classroom!!! Complete on time!!!

Lesson: Ever-Fi - Begin Lesson on "Sustainability Foundations" - This course introduces students to the concept that we all must live within the physical laws that govern Earth and that we have a responsibility to one another to protect our resources. Activities guide students to think critically about the interconnectedness of environmental and human systems.

  • Take your time and be sure to read each section carefully! You will set up your area as you want depending on your wants and needs!

  • After you set up your area, you will be faced with "The Challenge" as changes will arise!

  • You will have to address 4 different challenges and come up with a "social contract" to solve each one. You can do them in any order, but will have to do all four.

  • When you get to "add to your social contract", you have to type in something or you will not be able to continue.

  • You will take a 10 question post-assessment quiz when you are done! Take your time. You can look things up if you need to while answering the questions!

  • This is due on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 3:00pm. It counts as a test grade! An EASY way to get a 100!

  • Ho w you will be graded. You will be graded by your effort. You should must be HIGHER than a 70! A 70 or higher = 100! If not, go back and do it again. It is like getting a chance to retake a test! If you get lower than a 70 but complete the course, your score will be an 80. Also, the program does let me know how much time you spent on the program!

This is your first assignment for the 3rd marking period.

What do you need to do? Just watch the first 2 parts of the video!!!! The first part is approximately 2 minutes and the second part is under 5 minutes. Watch the video and then TURN IN the assignment by Friday. That's it! You are NOT doing the activity!

This assignment is due on Friday, 1/21 by 3:00pm. It must be complete by then in order to get full credit. Any assignments turned in AFTER 3:00pm on Friday will lose points. Thank you.

All I want you to do while watching the video is think about how computers have changed over time and then imagine how they will change in the future. I can only imagine that computers will soon be so small that they will be able to fit on the tip of a pen!!!

Due Feb 5, 3:00 PM

Assignment: Watch the first 2 parts of the video. The first part is 1:46 min and the second part is 3:49 min. While watching the video, think about the questions below. There is NOTHING to submit, however, make sure to TURN IN the assignment when you are done in order to get credit. The assignment is due on Friday, February 5, 2021 by 3:00pm!!! It MUST be turned in by this time in order to get full credit. Each day that it is late, 10 points is subtracted from your score.

1. What's the tallest skyscraper anyone can build? (Think about what we learned in class and how they need to withstand earthquakes!)

2. What did this lesson make you curious about? What other questions do you have about skyscrapers? ( Would you ever live in the top floor of a 100 story skyscraper!)

Bonus Activity: OPTIONAL, FOR FUN!!! The island of Ap Lei Chau is tiny! A person can walk all the way around it in less than an hour. But almost 90,000 people live on this tiny island! How can they all fit? Think about how skyscrapers let lots of people live on a small patch of land. Describe or draw a city that you could build on a small island. Don’t forget to leave space for parks and places to play! How can you arrange the buildings so that everyone has a nice place to live and also has a great view?
