Dates to Remember:

Free White Milk:  ADL will be providing white milk to all Kindergarten students free of charge from Monday, September 11th until Thursday, September 28th.  I will take a daily count from students.

Breakfast Program:  Sherwood School's Breakfast Program will begin on Monday, September 19th and will run Monday through Friday from 8:05 until 8:40 am.   All students are welcome to attend it.

Book Exchange:  Our first book exchange of the year will be on Wednesday, September 20th, Day 4.  Please have your child return the Library book they will sign out by or on the next Day 3.  Merci!

Terry Fox School Run:  Our class will be participating in Sherwood School’s annual Terry Fox School Run on Thursday, September 21st (Rain Date:  Friday, September 22nd).  Kindly ensure your child is dressed comfortably for the weather on this date.  Families are invited to make a donation in support of The Terry Fox Foundation at the following link:

Cash donations are also being accepted by the school.  Please send money in an envelope, clearly labelled with your child’s name and purpose of the payment (Terry Fox School Run) on it. 

UPEI School of Nursing Students:  Our class is pleased to welcome two second year students from the UPEI School of Nursing, Chelsey and Rachel, into our classroom.  They will be observing us over seven days throughout September and October, beginning on Thursday, September 21st.  On Wednesday, November 15th, they will be running a Teddy Bear Clinic for us.

School Pictures:  Kindly return your child's Harvey Studios school picture order by Friday, September 22nd, if placing it through the school.

Show and Share:  All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice from home for Show and Share on the last day of each week.  Kindly help your child prepare to talk to the class about their chosen toy in French at home.  Our first Show and Share of the year will be held on Friday, September 22nd.  This week, please help your child introduce themselves.  The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:  Bonjour!  Je m’appelle _____.  Kindly remember not to send toys with your child on days other than Show and Share.

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week and year ahead:

Leader/Assistant: Our first leader of the day will be Jackson and our first assistant will be Harriet this week.

Theme:  Our theme will be Classroom Objects this week.

Earbud Headphones: Kindly send 1 pair earbud headphones in your child's zippered bag, if you have not already done so.  I would like to add a listening centre to our "Free Play" centres.  Please also remember to label them.  Merci beaucoup!
