Dates to Remember:

New!  Sherwood School Mascot Spirit Week:  All students will be introduced to Sherwood School's mascot, Forest, in a fun way each day this week.  

Bus Evacuation Exercise:  Our class will be participating in Sherwood School's annual bus evacuation exercise on Monday, October 16th between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m.

Rescheduled Book Exchange:  Our last book exchange is rescheduled for Monday, October 16th, Day 1.  Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Friday, October 13th, Day 3.  Merci!

Second Step Program:  Our next Second Step lesson with Mrs. Swan will be on Monday, October 16th, Day 1.

Learning Buddies:  Our first Learning Buddies session with Mme Fraser's Grade 3 French Immersion class will be on Tuesday, October 17th, Day 2.

Field Trip to Beamish Orchard:  Our class will be going on a field trip to the Beamish Orchard in Warren Grove on Tuesday, October 17th.  We will be travelling by school bus, leaving the school at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 11:15 a.m., in time for lunch.  The rain date is Friday, October 20th.  Kindly ensure that your child is dressed comfortably for the weather on this date, including a sun hat and a fall coat.  Please apply unscented sunscreen on them at home too.  Kindly also pack your child's water bottle, lunch kit and full change of clothes (in a large Ziploc bag) in their backpack.  We will be eating snack at the orchard.  Please be sure to pack extra snacks in their lunch kit as they may be hungrier than usual upon our return to the school.  It is sure to be a fun morning for all! 

Payment for Field Trips:  Payment for your child's field trips can be made online at Sherwood HotLunches or by cash until the date of the excursion.  If paying by cash, kindly send exact change in an envelope, clearly labelled with your child’s name on it and the purpose of the payment.  The fee for your child to go to Beamish Orchard is $5.00 and is due by Tuesday, October 17th.

School Picture Retakes:  School Picture Retakes will be taken on Wednesday, October 18th by Harvey Studios.  Kindly return your child's Harvey Studios order form, indicating that you would like them to have retakes done, by this date.  Merci! 

Cancelled due to Book Fair!  Regularly Scheduled Book Exchange:  Our next regularly scheduled book exchange will be on Thursday, October 19th, Day 4.  Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Wednesday, October 18th, Day 3.  Merci!

New!  Sherwood School Spirit Day:  Students are invited to dress in green and/or white to show their pride in Sherwood School on Friday, October 20th.   Your child could wear their crested t-shirts and/or hoodies, if they have one. 

Absence:  Unfortunately, I will be absent for the afternoon on Friday, October 20th.  Madame Hélène Crevier will be replacing me.

Cancelled due to Field Trip to Beamish Orchard!  Show and Share:  All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice for Show and Share on Friday, October 20th.  Kindly help your child introduce themselves.  The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:  Bonjour!  Je m’appelle _____.  Please remember not to send toys with your child on days other than Show and Share.

Leader/Assistant:  Our first leader of the day will be Athena and our first assistant will be Axton this week.

Theme:  Our theme will be Apples this week.  We will also touch on Colours again.  

Eye See…Eye Learn! Program:  Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2023.  The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I.  Please refer to the following link for further information:

The Magic Toothbrush:  All Kindergarten students across P.E.I. will receive a free copy of The Magic Toothbrush, written by Marlene Bryenton.
