Dates to Remember:


Scholastic Book Fair:  Sherwood School’s first in-person Scholastic Book Fair of the year will be held in the school's Library from Friday, October 20th until Thursday, October 26th.  Our class will be viewing the books on Monday, October 23rd at 9:45 a.m. and buying on Tuesday, October 24th at 10:30 a.m.  If you would like for your child to purchase a book, kindly send cash or a cheque (payable to Sherwood School) with them in an envelope, clearly labelled with their name and the amount enclosed in it.  Please also put your child’s “wish list" in the envelope.  Don’t forget to circle the title that they would like to buy.

Second Step Program:  Our next Second Step lesson with Mrs. Swan will be on Tuesday, October 24th, Day 1.


School Picture Retake Orders:  Kindly return your child's Harvey Studios school picture retake order by Wednesday, October 25th, if placing it through the school.


Lockdown Drill:  Sherwood School's first lockdown drill of the year will be on Wednesday, October 25th at 10:15 a.m.  Our class will also be practicing lockdown procedures in the days prior to that date.


Learning Buddies:  Our first Learning Buddies session with Mme Fraser's Grade 3 French Immersion class will be on Wednesday, October 25th, Day 2.


Show and Share:  All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice for Show and Share on Thursday, October 26th.  Kindly help your child introduce themselves.  The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:  Bonjour!  Je m’appelle _____.  Please remember not to send toys with your child on days other than Show and Share.


Absence:  Unfortunately, I will be absent on Thursday, October 26th and Monday, October 30th.  Madame Sarah Williams will be replacing me both days.


Book Exchange:  Our next regularly scheduled book exchange will be on Monday, October 30th, Day 4Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Thursday, October 26th, Day 3.  Merci!


Professional Learning Day:  Kindly note that Sherwood School will be closed on Friday, October 27th as it will be a Professional Learning Day for teachers.


Home and School Christmas Wreath and Tree Fundraiser:  Sherwood School's Home and School Association is having a Christmas wreath and tree fundraiser.  All proceeds from the sales will support Home and School hosted activities as well as the new playground.  The fundraiser will close on Sunday, November 5thKindly use the following link:

Wreaths are $30.00 each and can be picked up at the school on a Saturday morning to be determined in late November/early December.  Trees are $45.00 each and can be chosen at Smiths Christmas Tree Farm or the Canadian Tire parking lot during the month of DecemberTree certificates will be sent home with students the week of Monday, November 20th.

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week and year ahead:


Leader/Assistant:  Our first leader of the day will be Harriet and our first assistant will be Henry this week.


Theme:  Our theme will be Halloween this week.  We will also touch on Apples again.  


Eye See…Eye Learn! Program:  Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2023.  The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I.  Please refer to the following link for further information:
