Dates to Remember:

Photograph of Winter Activity:  Weather permitting, kindly email me a photograph of your child participating in an outdoor winter activity by Tuesday, January 23rd.  Your child will use the photograph in an integrated Winter Activities themed Show and Share on Friday, January 26th.  Merci beaucoup!

Second Step Program:  Our next Second Step lesson with Mrs. Swan will be on Monday, January 22nd, Day 1.

Learning Buddies:  Our next Learning Buddies session with Mme Fraser's Grade 3 French Immersion class will be on Tuesday, January 23rd, Day 2.

Book Exchange:  Our next regularly scheduled book exchange will be on Thursday, January 25th, Day 4.

Friendship Fruit Salad:  Our class will be making a Friendship Fruit Salad on Friday, January 26th to conclude our Fruit theme.  All students are welcome to bring 1 fruit to put in the salad on this date.  It is sure to be a delicious treat!

Family Literacy Day:  Family Literacy Day takes place every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family.  The theme for 2024 is Let’s have a family party!  In celebration, our class will be having a literacy party on Friday, January 26th.  We will be singing songs and playing alphabet bingo together.

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week ahead:

Leader/Assistant:  Our first leader of the day will be Rylee and our first assistant will be Athena this week.

Theme:  This week, our theme will be Fruit.

Parents to Speak about Country of Origin:  I would like to extend an invitation to all parents to speak to our class about your family's country of origin.  Kindly write me a note in your child's communication duo-tang to schedule a 30 minute block.  Merci beaucoup!

Thank You for Classroom Visit:  Thank you very much to my sister-in-law, April, and my two nephews, Heath and Miles, for visiting our classroom and speaking to us about their country of origin on Friday, January 19th.  We all learned a lot about Australia from their presentation.
