Dates to Remember:

Absence:  Unfortunately, I will be absent on Monday, October 30th.  Madame Sarah Williams will be replacing me for the day.

New!  Halloween Spirit Day:  Students are invited to dress in orange and/or black on Monday, October 30th, in celebration of Halloween. 

Book Exchange:  Our next regularly scheduled book exchange will be on Monday, October 30th, Day 4.  Please have your child return their Library book(s) by or on Thursday, October 26th, Day 3.  Merci!

Halloween Costume Day:  All students and staff are invited to dress up in their Halloween costume on Tuesday, October 31st!  Kindly have your child wear their costume to school.  They will change out of it before going outside for recess at 11:45 a.m.  Please pack a change of clothes in your child’s backpack for them to wear for the remainder of the day.  For safety reasons, kindly do not include a mask or weapon as a part of their costume.  Please also keep small costume accessories at home as they may get broken or lost at school.  It is going to be a fun day! 

Halloween Party:  Our class will be celebrating Halloween on Tuesday, October 31st by playing bingo and enjoying a snack together.  I will provide a snack that is wrapped individually in its original packaging and labelled as Peanut/Nut and Dairy Free.  Merci beaucoup!

Pajama Day:  All students and staff are invited to wear their pajamas and bring a stuffed toy on Wednesday, November 1st.

Second Step Program:  Our next Second Step lesson with Mrs. Swan will be on Thursday, November 2nd, Day 1.

Show and Share:  All students are invited to bring a small toy of their choice for Show and Share on Friday, November 3rd.  Kindly help your child introduce themselves.  The following sentence structure may be helpful to them:  Bonjour!  Je m’appelle _____.  Please remember not to send toys with your child on days other than Show and Share.

Learning Buddies:  Our next Learning Buddies session with Mme Fraser's Grade 3 French Immersion class will be on Friday, November 3rd, Day 2.

Home and School Christmas Wreath and Tree Fundraiser:  Sherwood School's Home and School Association is having a Christmas wreath and tree fundraiser.  All proceeds from the sales will support Home and School hosted activities as well as the new playground.  The fundraiser will close on Sunday, November 5th.  Kindly use the following link:

Wreaths are $30.00 each and can be picked up at the school on a Saturday morning to be determined in late November/early December.  Trees are $45.00 each and can be chosen at Smiths Christmas Tree Farm or the Canadian Tire parking lot during the month of December.  Tree certificates will be sent home with students the week of Monday, November 20th.

Here are a few points of information pertaining to the week and year ahead:

Leader/Assistant:  Our first leader of the day will be Maisie and our first assistant will be Nia this week.

Theme:  Our theme will be Halloween again this week.  We will also touch on Apples again too.  

New!  Assessment and Evaluation:  I will be working with each student individually to assess their progress in fine motor, early numeracy and early literacy development over the next few weeks.  Our daily routine will be adjusted slightly to accommodate this activity.

Eye See…Eye Learn! Program:  Kindly have your child take advantage of the Eye See … Eye Learn! Program before June 30th, 2023.  The Eye See … Eye Learn! program is an eye health and vision awareness program which provides one free eye exam and, if needed, one free pair of glasses to all Kindergarten students across P.E.I.  Please refer to the following link for further information:
