Equestrian Carnival - 23 August

The Clifton Carnival was a resounding success, bursting with fun, games, and contagious energy! From start to finish, the event was a whirlwind of laughter and excitement, thanks to the incredible support and enthusiasm from everyone who joined us.

We kicked off the day in style with our pony rides, setting the tone for a day full of horsey activities. The first competition, the hobby horse race, had everyone on their feet! Zara Miller dazzled with her beautifully crafted hobby horse, winning the prize for the best homemade design, while Izzy Plumpton sped to victory in the jumping course, being the fastest hobby horse rider.

The fancy dress competition brought even more excitement to the carnival, with participants showing their creativity in style. The best-dressed horse and rider duo went to Molly Walker and her pony, Cammi, who stole the show with their creativity. Hot on their heels were Adriana Rautenbach in second place and Olivia Skead in third, both with impressive and imaginative outfits.

Our interhouse event was a thrilling new addition to this year’s carnival, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was electric as everyone cheered for the houses. In the end, it was the Trojans who claimed victory by winning one age category and securing second place in the other two—a true testament to their speed and teamwork. The Crusaders weren’t far behind, to claim second place, while the Barbarians secured third. The energy, rivalry, and camaraderie made this interhouse competition an unforgettable highlight of the carnival!

We closed the day with a heart-pounding 6-bar competition, the highlight of the carnival! Spectators were on the edge of their seats as Jordan Reeve soared to victory, clearing an impressive 1.30m on her pony, Rufus. Jen Skead took a well-deserved second place, with Gaby Cutter in third.

Thank you to everyone who made the Clifton Carnival a day to remember! We couldn't have done it without your incredible spirit and support.
