Pancake Day is always a highlight! It’s all about making and eating pancakes – so much fun and so tasty. The most exciting part is flipping the pancakes in the pan (just make sure they don’t land on the floor!). Once ready, we added our favourite toppings such as sugar, syrup, or chocolate. It’s a day filled with sweet, delicious fun. What’s not to love about Pancake Day?
The Grade 5s delved into the fascinating world of the San and Khoikhoi civilisations. To bring their studies to life, we embarked on an exciting field trip to the Kamberg Mountain, where we explored the remarkable rock art created by these ancient communities.
On Wednesday the Grade 6s embarked on an exciting and educational day trip to Spioenkop Battlefield. This was the first time we had visited the site, and it turned out to be a day we will never forget!
From Matabele army ants to African eleph-ants, there was a cornucopia of game viewing, and a deep immersion into the culture, history, flora and fauna of the Northern Tuli Game Reserve.
With the recent showers and subsequent carpet of green emerging on campus, the Grade 4&5 Outdoor Learning day focused on Clifton’s water course. This week, our Cognitive Enrichment Advantage theme is Exploration. Inspired by the recent archaeological discoveries at Clifton, we embarked on a campus-wide exploration during our Project Based Learning day on Wednesday. Our goal was to uncover hidden treasures and learn more about our own surroundings, just like archaeologists.
The recent Spring Ball was a night to remember, as students from Grades 4 to 7 graced the dance floor with a series of elegant performances. Each grade showcased a different dance style, highlighting the students' hard work and enthusiasm. The Grade 4s opened the evening with a graceful Basic Waltz, followed by the lively rhythms of the Cha-Cha-Cha from the Grade 5s. The Grade 6s impressed everyone with their smooth and stylish Foxtrot, while the Grade 7s concluded the formal portion of the event with a refined rendition of the Waltz.
Following a busy morning of sports fixtures, our intrepid hikers made their way to Injisuthi for a night in Grindstone Cave. Having been safely delivered by Mr Xulu, the route began with a lovely meander towards Yellowwood Forest, with its crystal clear stream, perfect for an investigation from our curious crew.
The Goatman (half man, half goat) is said to roam Top Woods at night in search of boarders intent on some shenanigans. He’s been there for decades. But he is very allergic to Bug Weed… the perfect premise for an Interhouse fort-building competition!
