Grade 4+5 Outdoor Learning Day - 19 September
With the recent showers and subsequent carpet of green emerging on campus, the Grade 4&5 Outdoor Learning day focused on Clifton’s water course. We followed the natural path water drainage would take from our Indoor Centre roof to the stream, taking time to discuss and appreciate the enormous amount of work that has happened on campus of late to improve our drainage systems.
Having eventually arrived at the stream, inspecting the wellbeing of our Arbor Week trees, our focus shifted to examining, understanding and exploring our riparian system, with particular attention given to removing some privet, bugweed and black wattle saplings that had clearly also enjoyed the recent rains. We followed the streams journey down towards the wetland, with a spot of litter collecting and some spoor identification, before taking some time out to lie in the shade and just ‘be’ for a few minutes.
Suitably reenergised, attention shifted to creating some outdoor classrooms… log circles in the woods. A good day out!
