Grade 2 - Termly Update

As the end of the year is fast approaching, the buzz of activity and creativity in Grade 2 continues!

In the beginning of August our school celebrated Literacy week, which was themed The Faraway Tree. Our grade 2s dressed up as their favourite book characters and enjoyed a magically transformed playground filled with secret surprises. Later in the same week, our Grade 2s strength and athletic prowess was put to the test as we held our annual Interhouse Mini Olympics. Perseverance and determination shone through brightly as our learners completed each event with gusto.

What has to be the highlight of the term is our Junior Primary play production, “What’s the Crime Mr Wolf?”, where Mr Wolf is brought to the Forest Court to answer for his crimes against the 3 Little Pigs. In this unique and humorous production our students showcased their talents and enthusiasm and put on a spectacular performance!

As always, learning about the environment is part and parcel of being a Clifton student and with that in mind our Grade 2s took some time out to celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees and exploring the outdoors. The final event on the term 3 calendar was the JP Fort Building Day. Our students’ structures featured multiple storeys, “paved” walkways, fireplaces and even water bottle storage, a true reflection of their creativity and love for nature.

We wish all of our students and parents a restful holiday and we look forward to seeing you in term 4.
