Girls Lacrosse Dominate Against May River
By: Andrew Jeffrey and Brody Doyle
The girls lacrosse team played May River at home. It was a very hopeful game for the Seahawks with an outstanding win of 20-4. The girls varsity lacrosse team is now ranked 15th in the whole state of South Carolina. On the other hand, May River was ranked 27th in the states. So, this win was very helpful in making their ranking go up in the last couple weeks.
Anna Ferreebe and Sophia Cavano both scored 5 goals each, helping the team a lot. This type of playing by Anna Ferreebe is very common. She has 39 total goals this season. With these goals she also has 13 total assists this whole season. Anna is a very good team player. Lilly Friday is a player on the team and she said that,”Anna is a great team player, and is super sweet to everyone on the team. Even when she is off and on the field.”
Another very key player on the team is Sophia Maduri, she is the goalie on the team. She has saved 31 goals this season. Rell Strocko, the other goalie on the Lady Seahawks also has 31 saved goals this season. Jessica Staige said, ”They are very important because they make sure no goals happen.” Without a good goalie and good team players the team would not be able to perform as well as they did against May River.
Rise of Boys Volleyball
By: Leah Jackson
Garret Talarczyk ,The Head Varsity Volleyball coach here at Hilton Head Island High School is looking to further the interest of young men in volleyball by starting a new club for the 2022 season. His goal for the program is to “spark an interest so that boy’s volleyball can hopefully become a sanctioned varsity sport with tryouts, region play, tournaments etc.” Coach T referred to the “lack of boys youth volleyball in our area which makes it difficult for these young men to have an interest or knowledge of the game.” The boys volleyball team is technically a club although they have played 2 games against Richland Northeast and Cathedral Academy with hopefully more to come. Coach T also speaks of the difficulty of scheduling games as he says “Volleyball isn’t quite as popular with the boys so it’s more difficult to find teams to play. We had more games scheduled but unfortunately some teams fell through as they didn’t have enough players.” The lack of youth boys volleyball in our community has also resulted in the “lack of skills” in the young men now interested in volleyball. Coach T refers to “starting with the basics and working up from there.” Coach T hopes for Boys Volleyball to become a sanctioned sport here at Hilton Head Island High School over the next two or three years.

Boys soccer game
By Nayeli, Giselle, Bryan, Amy
The boys soccer team will have senior night as well as their last game . Mr Olivetti said that he is “excited for the seniors”. They have been training hard for their last game and they are ready to play. Although the boys team has had some losses they could still win and the students will come and support their team.
Mr Olivetti says that the boys did as well as they could ask for this season.
He also hopes his team learns about “work and reward” but also “the love of the game” . Hopefully the boys will remember these things they will help later on.
The coaches will also be choosing an MVP but Mr Olivetti is rooting for the goalkeeper although he thinks that all the boys were good. And worked hard at training .
In mr Olivetti's opinion the best game in the schools history is when they won state championship it was one of the “most memorable
We hope that the boys team will work hard to win this game but also that they have fun. Either way if they win or lose they still have hope for next year and hopefully they train harder to keep winning .

By: Leah Jackson, Brody Doyle, and Andrew Jeffrey
Brady Saba is a freshmen at Hilton Head Island High School and an Attack on the lacrosse team he was recently ranked in not only the top 5 in the country in the class of 2025 but number 2 with 40 goals this season in just 11 games just 4 goals shy of the number one spot. Brady took the jump in stats with a shocking 10 goals in the teams conference game against bluffton. With this being said, Brady is a key player for this team and has a very bright future ahead of him. If he keeps this playing up, then he could be looking at a D1 lacrosse offer from many great schools. Although, students can not be offered scholarships until they are a junior in high school, so Brady has a long way to go. Brady has also been named play of the game by Max Preps in the team’s games against Greenville High, Bluffton, and Academic Magnet. Brady is a very determined lacrosse player at a young age and will push himself to reach the goals he has set for himself.
The Seahawks Soccer Boys Vs. Lucy Beckham By: Hailey Poplin
The J.V boys soccer team had a great game against Lucy Beckham. The Seahawks and the Bengals both started off slow, then throughout the game they both gained momentum. Both teams came out strong, but it all came down to whose team was better at working together. The Bengals would have won, but the Seawhaks had a better goalie. Taymen Elbejoli, had an upper right corner save that gained the team leverage they needed to stay in the game. That helped the Seahawks also get in the Bengals box to help them score. The right winged player goes up and down the field and fluctuates from a defender and attacking. Diego Palacio, who plays right wing, helped the team by defending the Seahawks from many shots at goal. Which sealed the Seahawks and Bengals at a tie.

Lacrosse Playoffs
By: Caleb Spangler, Landon Brockway
The Boys varsity lacrosse team takes on A.C Flora Friday night, April 22, 2022. This is the second round of the playoffs as they beat Bluffton high school 17-3, and advanced into the second round of the playoffs. Star forward Seth Woods led the team in scoring with 8 goals. Freshman Brady Saba states, “ To win states we need to shoot more efficiently,” as the Seahawks shot very poorly. Bluffton was a pretty easy task for the Seahawks since they were 2-0 on them in the regular season, but A.C Flora will be much tougher. The Seahawks rank 3rd in the region while A.C ranks 4th. The two teams have also not matched up in the regular season so the Seahawks do not have any indication of what this matchup will look like. It should be a great matchup Friday April 22, 2022 with the winner getting a spot in the Semifinals and playing Christ Church.
