Hilton Island High School Mathematics department welcomes three excellent teachers to the Nest for the 2021-2022 school year.

Michael W. Jordan has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Glassboro State College. He has 33 year of teaching experience. He is an advocate for students and a great addition to the math department.

Adam Harnishfeger recently moved to South Carolina from Pennsylvania where He graduated from his hometown college, Lock Haven University (LHU). He first graduated in 2016 with a degree in Business Administration focusing in Economics and Finance. He was able to take classes in various locations. In 2014 he studied abroad in Glasgow, Scotland for four months. While there, He was able to travel to other European counties such as Germany, Austria and Poland. In 2016 He participated in an internship for small business in Washington, DC. His hobbies consist of hunting and fishing, so He is looking forward to fishing on and off the ocean. He as excited to be here as a new teacher and joining this great community made up of faculty, staff and students.


Ali Maguindanao is a Mathematics Teacher from the Land of the Orient Seas – the Philippines. Ali has been teaching for 11 years and completed a Masters of Arts in Education major in Teaching Mathematics. It is his first time to experience teaching abroad or even set foot to any foreign land. However, He is very grateful to the kindness and generosity of the staff and faculty of HHIHS. Ali finds them very welcoming and accommodating. He is enjoying his experience here in HHIHS. Everything is new – food, environment, culture, and a lot more. I am positive and ready to learn something new. I have faith that this whole experience will help me widen my horizon as an educator. Also, I look forward to contribute to the success of my students’ lives.
