- Seniors participated in College Application Day on October 9, 2020.
- Worked with students participating in dual enrollment and early graduation opportunities.
- We welcomed two new School Counselors in the office. They are thriving in the Seahawk Nation and jumping at the opportunity to meet their students: Mrs. Dopson works with students whose last names start with the letters R-Z and Mrs. DiTroia works with students whose last names star with the letters A-E.
- We debuted Parchment and SCOIR for the first time. Parchment is an electronic platform that allows students to request letters of recommendation and transcript be sent to colleges. SCOIR is a software program that assists students in determining career interests as well as complete college research.
- FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid opened on October 1, 2020. This allows students to request financial assistance from our federal government to pay for college.
- We welcomed 144 new students to Hilton Head Island High School!
What's Happening IN 2ND Quarter?
- Junior IGPs will be starting in November. Be on the lookout for email and snail mail invitations!
- November is Career Development Awareness Month. Emails will go out with videos about different careers that students can pursue while attending local colleges.
- As a way to adapt to our new times, there is a google form where you can sign up to ask your School Counselor about career, college or academics.
- Watch for an announcement about a college and scholarship workshop to assist parents and students of multicultural origins (i.e. DACA, Non-Residents, Political Asylum) who are wondering how to find resources to prepare for life after high school graduation.
