Practice with different techniques/processes/compositions,etc.
Applying my research/planning/experimentation/practice to the piece
Meaningful Materials/Processes/Composition Strategies/Mark-making
Start working on your next Sustained Investigation piece guided by your question (or the newest version of your question)
WICOR Strategies Used:
W- Studio time; experimentation, Mindmapping
I - Costa's Level 2 & 3
C - Matierial/Process/Composition/Mark-making Crowdsource Mindmapping Activity
O - Mindmapping, visual journaling; materials management; artifacts site (interactive notebook), process documentation
R - research
FOR EXAMPLE:
MATERIAL (what you use)- CHARCOAL - ephemeral, burnt, (made from) fire, easily erased, easily smudged/damaged, smooth or rough, soot, ash, blendable, somberness, prehistoric, aged, old
PROCESS (what you do with it)- ERASING - fading, dissolving, transformation (revising, refining), loss, sadness, removal, memory loss, lack of clarity, death,
COMPOSITION (Principles of Design, Point of View, Rule of Thirds, Principles of Sculpture, etc.) - SYMMETRY - reliable, consistent, strong, sturdy
MARKMAKING (How art materials look when applied to a surface) - SHORT, QUICK STROKES - rushed, frantic, spontanious, hyper, movement
Remember we deal with 2D, 3D, and Digital materials/processes!
And of course, your concept/idea should be guided by your inquiry!
