This term will be a fun and exploratory adventure. We will be studying various artists and techniques that will help push your photography skills into new heights. Advanced Photography is a mix of several levels ranging from straight photography lessons to alternative processes. Students taking the Photo IV Class will be working on Advanced Digital Assignments or Independent Study. Independent Study students will create a contract and be placed on a strict shooting and printing schedule. The assignments we will hope to cover this semester will be listed below. Students who are taking the Advanced Digital option have their own page on this site, see Advanced Digital Imaging.
Photography is a wonderful medium to share your thoughts about the world around you. The goal is to help you find your style of shooting and explore it to the fullest. Are you a nature lover? Do you prefer portraits? How about close-ups and objects? As an artist, it is important for you to decide what you are communicating to the viewer. You are in control of the camera and how the image turns out. We will be reviewing Camera functions and meter reading along with composition and lighting. It is important that you get on your shooting assignments right away. Students who do not have their assignments completed in a timely manner will fall behind quickly.
Learning Targets:
Students will develop images with a wide variety of contrast and value.
