Exhausting Subject matter is just that, exploring a subject thoroughly. Think of it this way, how many different ways can I take a picture of this subject? How can you change the lighting, the background, get close, move back, shoot the whole or parts? The only way we can improve on our craft is to keep exploring the subject over and challenging ourselves to try new ideas. When we feel like we need a break, we can try a new subject. The Black and White Magazine is a great source of beautiful images. It can be found on the cart or on the front table in the photo room. You can also find lots of great ideas for photography on the web. I have posted a few resources below.
Decide what interest you in photography. People, nature, objects and light, documentary, the list goes on.
Assignment:
Students will shoot 24 pictures on a subject of their choice. One contact sheet and 4 well printed photographs are due for this assignment.
